Stadio Flaminio decision (10th - 13th August)
Soprintendenza should deliver a verdict regarding Stadio Flaminio project soon, some media outlets have said that it would be 10th of August. It’s still technically possible that verdict would arrive 13th of August.
Conferenza dei Servizi preliminare has been going on during the summer, several months now.
I’ll summarize possible options:
+ Approval, stadium project will progess like Lazio & Lotito presented back in February. Many steps would be left, like crafting financial plan and 120 day public conference before construction starts, but the stadium project would be actually realistic to happen.
Compromise, stadium capacity will be downgraded from 50k to 40k or some other compromises like with the old canopy renovation - stadium project still goes on but not as originally intended by Lazio. Heritage constrains caused by Nervi will create a lot of challenges for the project.
- Rejection, Lazio’s Stadium Project is deemed not suitable and won’t go further on. This would effectively end the stadium renovation project with Stadio Flaminio. Lazio would need to start a new stadium project and it would be also with new owner, because this would not happen with Lotito.
Needless to say, a massive decision and week for the Stadio Flaminio renovation project.
