I need advice please
Hi everyone,
I recently moved to California and I’m trying to break into the legal field, but I’m still in the process of evaluating my foreign law degree in the U.S.
I have a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from outside the U.S., but I haven’t completed credential evaluation or taken any U.S. exams yet.
My main goal right now is to get an entry-level job in a law firm (Legal Assistant / Paralegal / Case Assistant) to gain experience in the U.S. legal system while I figure out my long-term path.
I wanted to ask:
Is it realistic to get hired in a law firm without U.S. degree evaluation yet?
What entry-level roles should I focus on?
Are there specific types of law firms in California that are more open to hiring beginners?
Any tips on how to stand out when applying with a foreign law background?
I’m very motivated to start working and willing to learn from scratch if needed.
Any advice or personal experience would really help me.
Thank you in advance!
