Here for the weekend, what are some bars or bar streets people in early 20s go to?
For instance I’m from Austin and we have 6th street, anything in LA that’s similar?

I fr need this urgently.
I'm basically looking for a shattered bixie cut (feathered) in LA (I live in Chatsworth) and I'm trying to find someone as soon as possible.
I want a haircut similar to this- https://youtube.com/shorts/S9fBxQ7yccg?si=jKpr6ziZ_OSZXlqO
Lived here for a year and a half now and have taken Pilates at three different studios. I was an instructor for over a decade on the East Coast and it’s just so different in LA.
Joseph Pilates teached constant change to continually challenge the muscles, here I’m lucky if I’m not just doing a crap ton of lunges over and over. No thought to varying leg and arm position, little class variety. One studio I belonged to for six months had the combo reformers with the towers and I used the tower springs exactly once.
It doesn’t feel like real Pilates it feels like group personal training on a reformer. Does anyone teach real Pilates anymore? Where?
north hollywood.
i frequently take the b line to work. due to disability, i occasionally have to drive to my b line stop, but i’m newly carless due to a car breakdown and a tight budget.
the main problem: from my apartment it is a 12-15 minute walk (moderate pace on a good day, much longer during a flareup) to my nearest bus and train stations. i do not have a place to keep a bike. i have osteoarthritis in one knee. some days, this walk is doable. some days, especially with summer weather coming up, the arthritis makes it excruciatingly painful even with the help of a cane.
i’m wondering if anyone has tips or insight? or maybe just some validation that i am not crazy and this shit is kind of hard? please do NOT suggest rideshare apps or i’ll lose my mind
ETA: gonna try metro micro out for my next commute, because walking to the service zone will be way less strenuous than walking to the subway. tysm for your help everyone <3
Suppose there is a show on a Friday night where the doors open at 7PM. About what time does the headliner usually go on, if there are opening acts?
Also, any general tips for the venue, parking, where to sit/stand, where NOT to sit/stand?
I just had Tam O’Shanter for the first time and it was great overall. Great food, ambiance and service. It got me thinking. What’s the best old restaurant we have?
Tam’s? Musso and Frank? El Cholo? Phillips’s? A place I haven’t heard of?
A lot of these places could survive on novelty alone but it seems they’ve been open so long for a good reason
Hi a friend and I are dying to go somewhere that has the butcher paper on the tables and gives you crayons to draw while you eat but neither of us know of a place. We live in Culver City but willing to drive. So does anyone know of any restaurants that have butcher paper on the tables and let you draw?
Am I tripping or Am I allowed to be mad? Roommate frustration
I’m stuck having to pay for June rent since my roommate doesn’t want to leave/find a roommate.
Mid May, my roommate told me she found a co-op and was possibly moving out.
That being said, i started browsing myself because neither of us can afford this expensive apartment on our own.
BOOM I find the perfect apartment and tour it the following Sunday. And I am approved by Monday.
But before I even got approved, I had kept her informed through out the whole process and let her know my tour was great and percentage of me moving out was very high.
A day later she tells me she told the co-op NO and that she’s going to stay in the apartment. (Which I know she can’t afford on her own)
And now her solution is BEGGING her friend to move in with her. (mind you it’s very clear that said friend doesn’t want to move in! She’s living rent free at her parent’s house and has said it herself!!)
So yeah, now I have to pay June rent because my roommate doesn’t want to leave or find someone who actually want to move in!
Random dude knocked on the front door claiming someone took his airpods case at the airport and it was pinging at my home. Didnt let the guy in but told him that can be any of the properties in the area since the homes here are in close proximity. Im wondering if this maybe was a scouting operation of the property to possibly try and rob the place? Should i let the police know and hand them a picture I have of the guy through my ring cam? Happened in East LA btw.
Any in person book clubs? Girls only is a plus but not requirement <3
Hiii? I’m looking for a creative outlet because I’m having a midlife crisis, and I thought I might try art classes that meet in the evenings—does anyone have a recommendation? My specific requirements:
(1) Not ceramics. I do not like squishing things.
(2) Not writing. I write and am in a writing-adjacent career and I just cannot anymore with that.
(3) 8pm start time ideal, mayyyybe 7:30.
(4) Okay for beginners.
(5) Commutable from Toluca Lake but preferably not in the Valley. I am trying to get tf out of here from time to time.
TIA!
I'm moving to LA and looking to find a safe area. Middle of the road place, maybe 700-800sqft.
All the places I can find are $3800+. I see some 600sqft apartments for around $3300.
Are these high/low/normal?
I find myself supporting her especially because her stance on housing and transit, does anyone else support her or do you guy's support Bass or Pratt?
New to LA. With primary elections coming up, I figure what better way to get to know a city?
About two months ago, I received a jury summons notification for Los Angeles Superior court. I filled it out explaining that I would be nine months pregnant at the time of jury service with a high risk pregnancy and mailed it back thinking that was the end of it. Now, I received a notification in the mail that the court has not received my “written response as required by law” — I’m not even sure what that means since I did fill out the original form. The notice says “failure to respond to this notice may cause you to receive a failure to appear notice.”
I have since given birth early and I am physically recovering, so there’s no way I’m able to serve at this time, but when I’ve tried to call the courthouse/phone number on the most recent notification I received, I get nowhere. I’m just frustrated at this point, also considering I just moved to Los Angeles a few years ago and this is already my second jury summons. Is it safe to ignore this at this point? I feel like I’ve done everything I can and I’m getting nowhere.
I am looking for reccomendations for hair salons where I can get a trim for an affordable price. I'll go anywhere except long beach or malibu for this, I seriously can't find anything reasonable. I cannot spend $80-$150 on just getting my ends trimmed. Please help meeeee!
Where is your recommended salon?
Thanks in advance <3
EDIT: super cuts/group on/ the suggested stylists/cosmo school students and learning how to do it myself IT IS!!
I'm visiting for the night (Friday May 22) from San Diego and I'd like to take my special lady up the Griffith Observatory. However, I'm aware it's a Friday, it's a holiday weekend and there's a show at the Greek. Is this a bad idea? DASH? Uber? Go somewhere else nearby with a similar romantic vibe? We're staying in East Hollywood.
What’s the best way to/ place to sell a used 2020 Volkswagen tiguan in LA? I wanna know where people are actually getting the best offers or having the smoothest experience locally. Let me know what worked for you. Thanks!
I've lived in LA all my life and never go out, but I'll be going to downtown to spend a day there with some close friends (19-24), so what are any places that are worth going to that aren't ridiculously expensive? We don't mind spending a little money since we plan on just exploring really (and everything is expensive anyways), and we never hang out, so what are the places worth going to, shopping at, taking pictures at? We'll probably go see some museums, Angels Hill just because, Scentbar to try out/buy some niche perfume, Little Tokyo (unsure what stores yet), Fashion District to get fabric to decorate our homes (clearly very random stuff LOL) but any food, unique vintage/thrift stores that are actually worth going to, artsy places, nice drinks? Hidden gems? I don't know, really ANYTHING is acceptable, I just want a list of things to do, places to shop at, anything that will help us spend the day there without getting bored just walking around in Downtown since this is our first time really going. Thanks so much in advance!
Hi! I’m visiting for a festival in santa ana, i’ll really only have a tiny bit of time to walk around and stuff, i’m staying in pico rivera because it’s close enough ish to the airport and santa ana. From what i’ve read, there’s not much to do there it seems? Is there anywhere cool that i could get to that’s not insanely far away. I wanted to go to the daily planet, i went last time i visited but it’s a 2 hour commute. Why are commutes so long?? a 15m drive is an hour long bus ride that’s insane. Anyways, i’m not 21 and really enjoy goth music and oddities, record stores, thrift stores. Any recommendations? Thank you!
(only want suggestions near pico rivera)
