JOE IS THE BEST DAD

Joe is more than an uncle to Mitsuki or simply a father figure that replaced her parents (still have no idea or information about them…) Joe quite literally is her DAD!! The man who left his whole life behind to raise her. The man who put his niece first above everything else. The man who cared for her as his own and taught her and still worried and cares for her today. Thats not just a father figure THAT IS A FATHER 🥹🫶

Favorite side character?

A lot of us love Aya or Mitsuki but what about the side characters?

We got Joe, Kanna, Narita, Hime, Aiko (Ayas mom), Aki and Amu (Ayas brothers), Rinko, Shu, Chizuru, Mao, Nakajima (Mitsuayas Blonde classmate), Hasegawa (Himes father), Boss (Mitsukis boss) and the new addition of Riku (Akis classmate).

I really like everyone expect for a few but I really love Joe so much 🥹🥹🥹

Someone I definitely dislike is Nakajima. Riku for me is more questionable right now but who knows.

Favorite Green Yuri Quote/Panel?

One of my favorite quotes and panels is both in the image above 🙏

The green is washing away ☹️

Sumiko has often artistically add so much depth to the manga panels along with their meanings I wanna cry ☹️☹️☹️ Akis green is washing away. The whole idea of him facing the reality of how the world views love and losing his perception of how perceived love and his hero (Mitsuki) and also his best friend Aki all due to love and homophobia is shown a way really is shown in such a simple but deeply emotional way. I really hope Aki heals and gets found 🥹

Addressing Media Literacy

I really do get misinterpreting something and and honestly I think the large number of young readers, slow pacing, lack of panels etc. set up of panels and plot and development all contribute to the rise in the a lack of media literacy and not understanding the story with what I’ve seen.

As the usual issue many people jump to Aya being bisexual and I will not disagree that it’s easy to assume beyond that it makes people would jump to that conclusion but I’ve seen many say she can’t be a lesbian despite clear signs of her decentering herself from men, showing clear discomfort from men showing attraction towards her, her lack of interest in men and the fact she is butchfemme etc.

I’ve also seen some people jump to the conclusion and boiling down Mistuki to someone who just wants to sleep with Aya and or use her body for quick pleasure when the case is she is using all forms of physical intimacy for comfort to cope and to feel comfort she cannot also for avoidance etc.

This one scene where they got into an argument she wasn’t trying to sleep with her she actually thought she had upset and or harmed Aya and because she is so mentally unstable she leaned into kiss her to deescalate the situation. Aya pushed her away Mitsuki then assumed Aya wanted nothing to do with her overall and didn’t want any of her affection 😭😭😭

People also dim down the second scene of making out/kissing to just soley sex when some scenes are way more ambiguous that isn’t meant to be sex but about losing your music etc. People have also gone as far to give Mitsuki rape/SA allegations which really isn’t true. I can agree Mitsuaya has an unhealthy relationship 100% right now. From my understanding the kissing drunk scene and Aya not remembering was never suppose to imply sexual assault but is meant to be a more morally and ambiguous and emotional scene between two people falling apart. Many others have ignored the panels hinting at Mitsuki slowly falling apart and the symbolism etc.

I have seen a huge number of people also victimize and baby Aya seeing her struggles but ignoring her flaws and contributions to her relationship with Mitsuki. Which pushes a victim x abuser dynamic and an agenda that misunderstands and mischaracterizes the story and its characters.

I really recommend people take time to go back and to read the chapters and see the depth and think about what’s happening instead of looking at everything surface level and take time to understand the characters and their actions and struggles and the way the story has developed and how everything ties in.

I also heavily employer younger readers to be cautious and also read with care because Mitsuayas relationship and the story has become more complicated and mature and has genuinely pointed out real life problems and the more problematic sides in relationships that some people might to fully understand 🥹!!

I have seen a rise in a lack of media literacy as of these past few months and I think many factors are at play but regardless I do hope people take time to try to actually break down the story and think about it firmly more than just looking at things on the surface. Four panels and is arc is all a huge mess but I believe almost anyone can understand the story and its characters if they look outside hate and soley focusing on our opinions and personal expectations 😔😔😔

The concept of losing your best friend 😕💔

The implication of internalized homophobia from Riku from his hesitation or nervousness and two chapters ago with his very much feeling ingenuine reaction hurts. Aki seems especially close to Riku like he is his best friend and seemingly has a bond with him be it whatever he feels about their friendship it’s clear he’s been hurt 🥹 Akis own best friend is acting strange and the reality of homophobia is alarming to him and he goes to Mitsuki as a source of comfort only to be faced with another reality of love not being all enduring and everlasting then his best friend ignores him. HE LOST FAITH IN HIS HERO AND THE REALITY OF LOVE AND THE WORLD BOT BEING WHAT HE THOUGHT IS SO SAD ALL OF THIS SUCKS SO MUCH 😕😕😕

What are you guys most scared/worried about once the anime drops?

Its being done my cloverworks and its very popular so it will definitely become more mainstream…I am most worried about the Aya being bisexual allegations and just homophobia and characters being stripped of representation and the heavy sexualization of minors and the problematic shipping etc. with what I have seen happen to the fanbases like Go for it Nakamura and The Summer Hikaru Died when the anime’s dropped I’ll just say we are probably screwed 😭😭😭

Green Yuri has become more Complex and Mature.

The change in the story the more as I reread the story made me realize how much more complex it got! The four panel format and slow pacing can make that progression difficult to notice and the plot is confusing now but once you go back through it so many details suddenly click into place!

What started as a seemingly simple yuri romance has grown into a deeply layered story about two people who love each other more than anything yet become trapped by their fears and struggles. Two people who love eachother so much yet think they lost the other. Everything Mitsuaya has endured goes back to the idea of just literally not wanting to lose the one you love.

Mitsuki loses her music aka. loss of identity. Music was intertwined with her sense of self and as that passion fades so does her confidence and her self worth and her belief that she’s worthy of being loved. Afraid that losing music means losing Aya too she withdraws emotionally completely. Her avoidance isn’t born from a lack of love at all it’s a literal defense mechanism. She spirals questions everything about herself and seeks physical closeness and intimacy to express what she can’t communicate. Coping and using avoidance pushing Aya away but also pulling her in.

Mitsukis mental health is so unstable a simple argument and lie escalate things. When Mitsuki thinks she harmed or upset Aya and leaned in to kiss her to quickly deescalate the situation she was pushed away and thought Aya no longer wanted any of her affection. A simple misunderstanding made Mitsuki then think Aya didn’t love her. She was left feeling like she lost the one she loved.

Aya falls apart in a different way. She is deeply codependent on Mitsuki constantly putting Mitsuki’s happiness above her own. She carries what sorta is a savior complex believing it’s her responsibility to help the person she loves. When she realizes she can’t reach Mitsuki because she won’t open up she begins blaming herself. Unable to bridge the growing distance between them she copes through avoidance and alcohol. Lying to Mitsuki out of protection so she can get away. It spiraled into her convincing herself that Mitsuki simply doesn’t love her anymore.

The crazy part is that neither of them has stopped loving the other. They’re both acting out of love yet poor choices done out what they believe is best ended up causing more harm. We can see Mitsuki slowly crack every other chapter showing her decline even.

What’s interesting is Mitsuayas relationship continues to shape the people around them. Their bond is so meaningful that its impact extends beyond the two of them! Rinko develops feelings for Mitsuki but she also admires and looks up to her. Even though Mitsuki believes she’s failed to grow Rinko’s admiration proves that she has grown!! Aya melts away unable to help and connect with the person she loves yet she unintentionally becomes someone Shu finds connection through. Despite Shus complicated feelings toward her she was able to give her a genuine place to heal and connect.

The story also expands beyond romance. It’s exploring themes of compulsory heterosexuality, homophobia, codependency, insecurity, identity, self worth, grief, and finding love etc. finding strength and growing. Hime’s searching and following her father’s footsteps and even the romantic complicated dynamic involving Joe and Kanna adds to this.

Music remains the emotional heart of the story. Even when Mitsuki loses her passion her sense of self never truly disappeared. Even when Mitsuaya thinks they lost one another both quite literally crave and team for one another!! The music and or love they still exists beneath all the fear and pain.

Despite all the mangas flaws and its lack of panels and uneven pacing and moments that could be developed further with everything I’ve seen I genuinely believe Sumiko has taken the story in a far more mature and emotionally complex direction than it initially seemed!! Depsite the poorer attempt and agitated readers I actually like where the story has gone.

Even though for many it’s been “dragged out” or this was “unnecessary” Mitsuaya to me has become deep and loving. They carry flaws and realistic complexities and struggles and the story has added things I have seen others relate to heavily. Sumiko has made the story more mature since the timeskip and I am excited and invested to see how Sumiko will wrap things up with this arc and what she plans next.

Anyways share your thoughts below 🥹💚

THIS WHOLE PANEL

Aki believes in the pure idea that with love anything is possible in a way and because Aya and Mitsuki love each other that they can stay together. Mitsuki ended up responding with doubt but in a way but both are right!!

Mitsuki loves Aya but she doubts whether Aya truly loves her or not due to many reasons. Aya feels the same uncertainty toward that of Mitsuki. Even with the guitar in the background a symbol that music is slowly finding its way back into their lives the pain and struggle is still there. Love alone hasn't and can't erase what they've been through and are going through. But what's crazy is depsite everything they still are together and deeply connected.

Their love runs so deep that it has shaped every part of their relationship. They became increasingly unhealthy because of the love one another and depended so heavily on each other. They love and yearn for one another and that's undeniable and unbreakable 🥹🥹🥹

At the end of the day they still have a ways to go.
The love is there but so are the wounds. Mitsuaya is so heartbreaking because they love each other deeply yet both believe the other might not feel the same yet they have such a powerful connection.
No matter the doubt two things are true. Mitsuaya does have struggles to overcome but they also have a verg loving emotionally strong relationship 😔🙏
