About the June 24 outage

Hey everyone. We had a rough day on Wednesday, and we know that, as a result, many of you did too.

During a partner's routine update, things went sideways, knocking out data for some of our eSIM users. To make matters worse, just as we thought it was fixed, a second outage hit. This completely flooded our support inbox, leaving many of you hanging on for replies.

We are really sorry. Losing connectivity while traveling is incredibly stressful. We let you down when we gave a false "all-clear," and couldn't get back to you fast enough. We will continue to improve our support processes, and in the meanwhile we are proactively reaching out to every single affected user.

Current Status & Quick Fixes

Everything is fully restored and running normally. If your phone hasn't automatically reconnected yet, give this a try:

  • Toggle Airplane Mode ON for 10 seconds, then turn it OFF.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Double check that Data Roaming is ON for your Airalo eSIM.

Still having trouble? Send our u/airalosupport team a message and we’ll sort it out with you directly. Thank you so much for bearing with us!

Service degradation: June 24th

Hi there!

We’re currently experiencing a service disruption due to an outage from one of our network providers.

This is impacting eSIM connectivity across a number of regions.

Our team is working closely with the provider to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We’ll share updates as soon as service is restored.

Please reach out to our support team u/airalosupport here on reddit or our other channels if you need immediate assistance.

We appreciate your patience while we handle this issue.

Update [June 24th 12:16 UTC]: Service has been restored! If you’re still having issues, try turning on Airplane Mode and turning it off a few seconds later so your phone reconnects to the network. Alternatively, users can also manually select a network to reconnect.

Update [June 24th 16:46 UTC]: a new issue has been identified with the provider which is affecting users’ ability to connect. Our team is working with them to fix the root cause and restore connectivity as soon as possible. We apologize for the disruption and will update this thread as soon as we have more to share.

Update [June 24th 19:53 UTC]: The second issue was resolved with the provider after a rollback and users should have connection restored once more. If you’re still experiencing service degradation with your Airalo eSIM, restarting the device could force it to reconnect to the network and bring it back online. Reach out to our support team if this step still doesn’t work for you. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
