Rooted pixel 6 ... Use case idea - wifi calling from sim A going through travel sim B's data with wireguard

Basically - the Telco only enables wifi calling if the phone is in the Telcos home country.

Is it possible to send wifi calling though sim B and wireguard to make it look like the phone is in the home country to use wifi calling?

Or does the Dual SIM Dual Standby nature of the pixel 6 make this setup impossible?

Airalo charged me $850 after I bought a $25 eSIM

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar with Airalo.

I purchased a 15-day, 10GB eSIM for use in the US on July 27. It cost about ¥3,800 (~$25 USD). This was my second time using Airalo. My first experience was a 3-day unlimited eSIM in Guam, and that worked perfectly, so I had no hesitation using them again for my US trip.

The eSIM worked fine during my trip. No issues with the data service whatsoever.

Then I got back to Japan and started looking through the recent charges on my credit card.

On August 3, Airalo charged my card 9 separate times, with each charge being more than ¥10,000. Altogether, the charges totaled more than ¥123,000 — roughly $850 USD. I immediately canceled the credit card.

For additional context, I have confirmed multiple times that auto-renewal was NOT enabled. I also did not have my credit card saved to my Airalo account. The July 27 purchase was made using Apple Pay which always requires faced or password for approval of the payment.

So I have no idea how nine additional charges totaling ¥123,000+ were generated.

I’m currently working through Airalo’s bot chat and their support email (support@airalo.com) trying to get this resolved.

I had a good experience with Airalo the first time and the actual service worked fine this time too — but an unexplained $850 in charges is obviously a pretty serious issue.

I’ll update this post with how Airalo handles it.

Has anyone else experienced multiple unexpected Airalo charges like this, especially when auto-renewal was disabled and the payment was made through Apple Pay?

iPhone messages after using airalo

My wife and I got back from Europe, both using airalo on our phones. Me on an android, her on an iPhone. Since landing back in the US she can't use iMessage nor is she getting my texts on time. They come in delayed. We turned the esim off, back on Verizon, iMessage is enabled in the settings. It seems like we tried everything. My phone, no issues. It's been about 5 days of this now. Any help?

why have to chance settings in the middle of a trip?

First of all, I'm a fan, I travel full time and am using an Airalo eSIM virtually every day, all over the world. And I've always had good interactions with support.

But I'm in Mexico City this week, the SIM has been working flawlessly until today. So I get on the chat and the AI keeps asking the same questions so I asked to be transferred to a human, and after a few mins, I got a human. But now I have to go deep into my settings, take screenshots, and make changes the support person told me to make. Yes it's working now, but whyyyyy???? Why is it working fine for a week, and I'm not traveling around, I'm basically within a few miles of the place I'm staying. But all of a sudden, it's not working and I have to go deep into the system settings and make changes for the SIM to work again.

I don't get it.

Is it possible to activate the eSIM later, even though it is valid at the installation location?

Hi everyone!

I'm going on a cruise in October and would like to get the Discover eSIM from Airalo, as other plans don't cover all my destinations.

Does anyone know how I can install the eSIM so that it's only activated once we're in the Caribbean?

As far as I know, the SIM is activated as soon as it connects to the destination network. With the Discover eSIM, that would be at the port of departure and in my home country.

However, since I can use EU roaming there, I only need it from day 9 of the trip.

A plan for the entire trip is too expensive for me if I only need it for 5 days.

So, does anyone know if I can install the SIM before departure and activate it later?

Or should I wait to install it until we have Wi-Fi at the port we want to visit?

Thanks!

Edit: We will have between Europe and the Carribean 6 days on sea. I think we will purchase at one of these days a wifi package. Maybe i should install the esim at that day🧐

Airalo e-sim stopped working mid Euro trip

I bought a 30 day eSIM that stopped connecting to any network day 14, which happened to be a hectic travel day for me. Followed every suggestion from them and Google to sort it. Eventually bought a new eSIM from Holafly and it worked perfectly for the rest of my trip.
Airalo customer service did refund me but after having to explain the situation multiple times and not listening to me.
First time purchasing an eSIM with them and I won’t in the future.

Me recordaram muito a https://yesiim.com/

Estou curioso sobre o que as pessoas aqui realmente usam, porque todo site faz parecer simples, mas estou me perguntando como é a experiência real uma vez que você está realmente viajando.

Can I create a eSIM profile to avoid funds from expiring?

I have some funds in my account that will expire in a few month. I think these are from a referral.

Can I purchase an eSIM profile with these funds to avoid the funds to expire?

Am I correct in assuming that the eSIM profile will never expire and can be used even a few years down the road when I need it?

Airalo in Kerala India

Hello,

Will Airalo work in Kerala, India and if yes does it use the JIO network? When I tried to look at few plans through Airalo website, it said network is "vodafone" I don't know what that means.

Can you confirm if Airalo uses Jio network? Also, after I purchase I need to activate the plan BEFORE going to India correct? Since Indian Govt blocked all access to Airalo while in India.

Please reply

Where is my phone #??

I got the Europe plan for 15 days unlimited data but it’s not working because it’s not connected to my phone number. Nothing works — not even the internet and it’s apparently active. How do I get it to work?

When I turn WiFi on to check connection, it says to turn WiFi off. When I turn WiFi off, it tells me to turn it on. I’m stressed tf out because I’m traveling alone tomorrow and it’s not working.

Monaco: The Europe eSIM doesn't work here

If you need coverage there, you should buy the individual eSIM for Monaco, because it's not included in the regional European eSIM (for some reason).

And I didn't know that until I arrived in Monte Carlo.

But I used that regional sim in France, England, and Switzerland and it worked perfectly.

Airalo E Sim - terrible

I used to like this company, I’ve used them several times before. But when I had a unique problem that could not be solved by an AI Chatbot. I ended up wasting 3 1/2 hours of my valuable vacation time in Barcelona SPAIN trying to resolve an eSIM issue. The person on the chat her name was Hannah, was very nice. But I needed my issue resolved immediately. I have important business matters that I needed to take care of. It could potentially have lost money. I spent 3 1/2 hours going back-and-forth with Chat and the AI agent with no avail. I stressed them are important. This was to me and that if someone could please call me on my wife’s phone so that I can walk through the issues on my phone. Mind you I am a technical person. I work for a large Internet company. I know my way around Technology. They could not and would not help me. Do not use this company., Stay away from this company. There are many more choices. If you need an urgent matter resolved. Do not count on this company. And then they tell me it’s gonna take 30 days to refund my money? Are you kidding me? If you have this app installed on your phone, delete it. My experience was absolutely horrible.

Airalo in Yucatan/Mexico doesn't work

It worked good enough in Mexico City and Guadalajara, but absolutely nothing in Yucatan. Not recommended if you want to go to Tulum, Cancun, Chichen Itza.
