Onn. (Walmart) TV overclock

I sat down on my couch to play some Rocket League, coming from a 165hz display, the 60hz refresh rate of my girlfriends TV hurts my soul and is definitely bottlenecking my play style (not that im any good). I’ve overclocked displays before, so I opened up CRU and my radeon settings and set up a 75hz overclock because most displays to my knowledge work just fine at 75hz. For fun, I decided to do 80, 85, 90, 100, and 120hz. To my surprise, all custom resolutions (all 1080p), worked with no visual artifacts and only a bit of ghosting. It felt smoother and almost a similar experience to my 165hz monitor that I use daily.

Is this custom refresh rate overclock really 120hz, or is the tv accepting the custom resolution and only display 60hz with lower input response rate and using processing to smooth the image like “motion rate” jargon. To my knowledge, its like a super bogged down roku smart tv from Onn., Walmarts entry level TV line.
