[Modern] Help with Boros Burn

[Modern] Help with Boros Burn

Hello guys, I haven't played mtg in many many years and I want to come back with Boros Burn (I have all cards + more fetches if needed). This is my list:

https://archidekt.com/decks/25448846/boros_burn

Would you change the mana base? I've included two barb rings and 4 canyons cause I'm running 4 helix main deck. But maybe it's better to run more fetches and rift bolts instead of the 4 helix so idk.

What would you guys do? Sideboard recommendations also helps

What do I do if my pod never runs interaction and it always becomes an arms race?

I'm a player that likes playing control and usually stops people from winning the game, however, I cant stop 3 people at once when everyone is playing solitaire with their value piles.

I feel like I would have a lot more fun playing CEDH, but no one plays it in my LGS, so I have to play bracket 3. It's like an arms race and whoever draws the best hand or has the best deck wins, almost no one stops them.

I've tried playing stax, but there's many restrictions in B3 like no MLD, so stax just makes the game longer and sometimes doesnt even stop the race. Ngl, I might just play a Shorikai boardwipe tribal cause I'm kinda tired lmao.

What would you guys do? Lately I'm only playing modern in FNMs cause I'm kinda bored of how people play commander, it's as if they were goldfishing with their greedy value piles every single game.

Is Boros Burn decent now?

I used to play boros burn around 9 years ago, and I haven't sold anything, I just stopped playing.

I would have to invest like 35€ to play the updated deck for today's meta. Would you play this or should I go for izzet prowess? I would have to invest around 150€ for prowess, so it might be too much. Maybe I could play without thundering falls and no consign to memory in the sideboard to make it more affordable but idk.

I'm finishing third year in uni and I got an internship in mechanical design on september, so I've been working the whole year in this company 20 hours a week while I study.

I did learn a lot in the beginning, but I think I've reached a ceiling that I can't get out of. Most of what I do is updating assemblies/drawings and swapping some stuff if the client asks for something similar with a couple tweaks. The thing is that I'm not creating or designing anything new, so at this point I'm not learning anything, I'm just copying.

Would you guys look for a different company with harder work where I can challenge myself a bit, or would you guys just stick with it until I finish uni? Cause 2 years in design would look great on my CV (even if I wont learn much more) and idk if I'm going to find another opportunity like this. I'm also very interested in FEM, but there's only one Ansys license and it's monopolized by another engineer, so I can't use it.

Near death experience + Necropotence (I think its fine since you need to survive one whole turn for it to work, and they can always respond to near death experience hitting u with 1 damage)

Exquisite blood + Sanguine Bond

Energy Field + Rest in Peace

Web of Inertia + Rest in Peace

Ondu Spiritdancer + Enchanted evening

Second chance + Hall of Heliod's Generosity + Necropotence

Helm of obedience + rest in peace (I think this is B4, definitely not including it)

Repay in kind + Necropotence + Phirexian Unlife

I'm creating a Zur the enchanter deck that has worse combos to power it down a bit for a bracket 3 control deck, but I feel like the EDHrec combos page is not very good at judging. I'd like to know your opinion on this, I don't want the deck to be too strong (I prefer some shitty combos)

I'm a zur player that wants to have a second deck that's a bit powered down (Low B3/High B2) that mostly wins through combat and is fun to play.

I don't like tokens or +1 counters, I want to ramp and use big bois or have strong sinergies with a lot of value and still have the card draw and counterspells from blue.

Any suggestions?

Edit: thanks for the replies :)
