End of Season

Now that the finale has finished, it is the end of this year’s Hundred, with our women in 3rd and men in 6th, it’s not been the best year for the Brave. But we’ve had some good moments

Killer Miller hitting a 6 at Lords, to win against Spirit, when he needed 1 run, and he was injured
Tilly Corteen-Coleman being the three way tied leading Wicket Taker at 13 wickets in 9 games
Jofra getting his career best of 4 wickers for 9 runs, he’s never got more than 3 wickets in a game before, he has now.
The SB Women going for 17 wins in a row in group stages across the last 2 years
Issy Wong’s near 6 for the horse
Tilly and Issy getting the wicket of Phoebe Litchfield so earlier in both games against the Superchargers
And of course, Jamie smith breaking the scoreboard at Lords, and Marcus Stoinis hitting a 6, into the Pizza Stand

While not the best year in terms of numbers, we had fun, and while they took the Green from us, we’re still Born Brave. Thanks to Chris Jordan, Sophie Molineux and Laura Wolvaart for their brilliant captaincy, especially to Molineux being brand new to The Hundred.

I will try to keep this sub as alive as possible outside the season, cause when it comes to the Brave, I never give it up. Here ends the 2026 season

Always, Green army, and born brave

Hundred Women’s Eliminator Result

It’s over. We lost.

We got unlucky that we had to bat first, but honestly I don’t think even that mattered.

Issy Wong was absolute the standout today, bowling out Phoebe Litchfield, getting 3 wickets, almost a hat trick

A shame for Tilly to not be able to get one today.

She’s on 13, now Deepti Sharma is on 13. If Deepti can’t get one on Sunday, and if Sam Bates gets less than 3, then Tilly could be tied leading wicket taker, but it’s a big hope. I really would love her too, she’s an absolute standout and my fav female player.

But yeah, we’re out. Awesome to qualify 6 years out of 6, but sadly another year without a win. Last time was 2023 for the women. 2021 for the men.

Moral of the tournament? BUY BATTERS NEXT YEAR!!! We cannot keep relying on bowlers and all rounders, buy strong hard hitting batters. Also? Lizelle Lee is one of the worst keepers I’ve seen, I don’t want to hate on her, but her performance has been utterly awful. The main job of the keeper is to catch and stump, she missed so many catches. And it’s not fully on her, Lauren Bell missed so many also, and she’s meant to be our best player, 19 wickets last year, only 6 this year, and she’s only 25, she should be getting average 2 per game.

Overall, buy batters, buy a good keeper, and stop relying on bowlers. Good luck to Jos Butler and the Manchester Originals later against the Northern Superchargers men. I’m hoping they can win this year as they never have, Rockets won in 2022 for the men.

Free Speech Prevails

So weeks ago, I made a post commenting about how I was banned from the Southern Brave Instagram for protesting the change to the awful red and blue. I love the Brave, no matter what, yet they banned me for my loyalty to the #GreenArmy

Well after many weeks of emails between myself and support, I’ve finally been unbanned. The email they sent was the usual hide behind cooperate tone, but the jist of it is that they said my protesting was disruptive. They said how the green is part of the history and they embrace it, but then go on to say how they’re making money of the new stuff. Translation?

“You spoke out too much, we got scared, but we’re making more money now, so fine you can come back”

It’s pathetic. It really is. It goes to show though, that if you speak out, and you really fight for it, they cannot silence you.

Southern Brave vs Trent Rockets Men’s Game Result

WE DID IT!!!

With a giant chase of 159, Marcus Stoinis and Tristan Stubbs were absolute standouts! Notice how the second we dropped Luke Wood, we won? Tells you something. The hat trick was a fluke.

Anyways, bravo to these 2, Stoinis got 46, Stubbs got 52. We might be out of the men’s, but like last year, we went out with a win.

Though next year, please give us a batting team.

In terms of our best players?

Marcus Stoinis
Jofra Archer
Tristan Stubbs
Nikhil Chaudary

These have been the best for us I feel. 8 games, 5 losses, 3 wins. We’ve done better, but we did better than I thought we would. Next up? The Eliminator, come on Molineux, come back and lead your team to victory!

Southern Brave vs Trent Rockets Women’s Game result

Sadly lost Sophie Molineux today, due to injury so Wolvaart had to take over, let’s hope she’s back for Friday.

We didn’t have a brilliant batting, but some brilliant fielding. In the end this game didn’t really matter, as we’re qualifying either way, but it would have been nice. Sarah Glenn got a hilarious accidental wicket, getting out Georgia Adams, our former captain, tired to catch it, missed, it rolled into the stumps as Adams was out of her crease. Brilliant

Anyways, we had 2 left at the end. Tilly got 2 wickets, still leading wicket taker, love to see it. Nat Sciver-Brunt, yeah I’m not surprised.

We tried, we lost. But it’s not over yet. The eliminator at the Oval on Friday, let’s go!

COME ON BRAVE!

SOURTHERN BRAVE WOMEN QUALIFICATION!!!!

Despite us not winning yesterday, due to the results of other matches, the Southern Brave women’s team have qualified

They will take on Trent Rockets women tomorrow at Trent Bridge

Then take on either Manchester Originals or Northern Superchargers on Friday at the Oval

And if they win that? They will once more take on Trent Rockets at Lord’s on Sunday.

Come on Molineux, get your team together and get the Southern Brave Women to a second victory, and overall third.

I really hope we keep her next year, she’s been brilliant all season. A slight blunder on the Welsh Fire regional game, choosing for us to bat first. But aside from that, absolutely perfect.

For next year, I’m hoping for our direct signings to be Molineux, Lauren Bell, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, and maybe Danni Wyatt-Hodge? Depends if Oval keep her. I don’t know, let’s see.

I am hoping we are taking on Superchargers rather than Originals on Friday., we already beat them, plus it’d be nice to get some payback for last years finale, 8/8 wins only to lose it to Superchargers. We lost to Manchester, so no thanks.

But anyways, WELL DONE BRAVE!!!!!! 6/6 years qualifying

Southern Brave vs Manchester Originals Women’s Match Result

Another loss sadly, we can still qualify even if we lose to Rockets, but it will be so close

I was very worried bout Mady Villiers as she played for us last year, my fears were accurate.

Some good batting from Wolvaart, and awesome to get Molineux and Tills to 11 wickets each, once more becoming leading wicket takers.

Now onto the men’s game, aka the slaughter.

Jos Butler, Michael Bracewell, Sonny Baker, Josh Tongue, yeah I don’t expect to win this one.

Southern Brave vs Welsh Fire Regional Match Result

It’s been a sad day, a real sad day. Lost the women’s match on the last ball

And then lost the Men’s match also, some brilliant fielding and bowling from Jofra and CJ, but Luke Wood with YET ANOTHER no ball. The hat trick was brilliant, but was it really worth it if he keeps doing this?

Statically we can still get into the top 3 in the Men’s, but realistically it won’t happen, Oval have yet to play Phoenix, in which I’m 100% certain they will win, giving them enough points that even if we somehow win against Originals and Rockets, our men won’t get top 3. Hopefully next year we can get a good squad.

As for the Women’s, it’s a real gamble. We should hopefully stay top 3, but let’s hope we can beat Manchester on Saturday at home, guarantee top 3. I’m terrified of Sophie Ecclestone though.

Let’s hope we can do it, fingers crossed.

Southern Brave vs Welsh Fire Regional Women’s match result

Sighhh…. A sad day…

For some god knows reason Molineux decided to bat first… why!? I will let her off this time as it’s her first blunder after such a good 5 games, but I am seriously irritated

Then, Lizelle Lee decides to just forget how to catch, dropping ball after ball, and losing us a wicket by a run out, dropping the ball… and the plot.

Also, the umpires kept saying Lauren bell was throwing it wide! She wasn’t! I think it was 5 wides? 2 of em were not wide at all. It’s beginning to feel biased.

Jodi Grewcock was good this game, got our run total up quite a lot in the end

the standout was Tilly Corteen-Coleman, got 3 wickets and a brilliant catch

Bell wasn’t great today, but hopefully she can be better, she did get a good catch also

Issy Wong did very well

Also I’m really annoyed for Wolvaart, she got to 48, then out. We’re still lacking a half century, it would be nice

It was 1 needed from 1, we could have tied it…

Look it’s not Over, we’re still in first, it’s just if we won, we’d have a locked in top 3, it’s just we gotta take on Rockets and Originals now, Sophie Ecclestone, Sophia Dunkley and Nat Sciver-Brunt. It’s gonna be so close

Sadly lost our sixth game, and lost our 13 game win streak.

Let’s hope the guys do well, if they win they go into third

Southern Brave vs London Spirit Men’s Game result

WE ARE STILL IN THIS!!!

Somehow we got Liam Livingstone out 5 from 8, and would go to get all 10 wickets in 92 balls. Jofra’s best game ever! 4 wickets! FOUR!!!

Colesy was an issue for us in the second innings but we just about did it.

Chasing 106 we got so close, needing 1 from 5, but of course David Miller while injured smashed it for 6!

We went from 8th, to 7th, to 4th in 2 games!!!

Also Jamie Smith broke the scoreboard and Miller nearly broke a window.

Jaime Overton hurt his foot
Miller hurt his hand
Jofra hurt his hand
Livingstone hurt his hand
Colesy also got injured

Come on lads, stop hurting yourselves!!!!

But anyways well done to our men’s team, and also to the women earlier!

First in women
Fourth in men
First in combined

SOUTHERN BRAVE MEGA HALF WAY UPDATE!!😆😆😆😆

SOUTHERN BRAVE: THE GREATEST DAY IN OUR HISTORY
Both Brave teams absolutely dismantled the Birmingham Phoenix today at the Utilita Bowl!
FOURTEEN wickets taken in a single day.
First place overall with 20 combined points.
12-match undefeated group-stage streak across two seasons for our Women's team.
I’m actually shaking writing this.

THE WOMEN’S MASTERCLASS
Southern Brave Women beat Birmingham Phoenix Women by 24 runs.
Brave: 140/3
Phoenix: 116/5

THE WICKETS:

Lauren Bell – 1
Tilly Corteen‑Coleman – 1
Sarah Glenn – 1
Captain Sophie Molineux – 2
5 wickets total.
Davina Perrin and Alice Capsey were worrying but once we got them both out? Their chase died instantly!
4 wins from 4 matches this year.
16 points sitting pretty at the top of the table.
12 consecutive group‑stage wins across 2025 and 2026 (Eight straight last year, four straight this year). A literal dynasty run.

THE MEN’S THRILLER
Southern Brave Men beat Birmingham Phoenix Men by 12 runs.
Brave: 128/8
Phoenix: 116/9
The Bowling Wreckage:
Marcus Stoinis – 2
Jofra Archer – 2
Adil Rashid – 2
LUKE WOOD – 3…. WITH A HATRICK BALL! 2 CATCHES AND A RUN OUT!
9 wickets total.
Luke Wood, the man who’s been struggling all season, with no ball free hits on repeat in the Northern Superchargers game. He suddenly turned into a demon and had a hat‑trick ball!!!
Hat‑tricks in The Hundred are insanely rare. Only a tiny handful of players have ever done it, so him even being on a hat‑trick is historic.
Phoenix Men got absolutely humiliated. Collapsed. Crumbled. Destroyed. He is the Eighth person to do it!

  1. Imran Tahir
    Date: August 9, 2021
    Team: Birmingham Phoenix Men
    Against: Welsh Fire Men
The Hat-Trick Ball: On ball 93 of the match, he ran in and cleanly bowled David Payne to seal a historic 5-wicket haul and spark his legendary, full-stadium lap of honor at Edgbaston!

  2. Alana King
    Date: August 13, 2022
    Team: Trent Rockets Women
    Against: Manchester Originals Women
The Hat-Trick Ball: The Australian leg-spinner completely turned the game around at Old Trafford, trapping Ellie Threlkeld LBW on her third consecutive delivery to claim the first-ever hat-trick in the Women's competition.

  3. Shabnim Ismail
    Date: August 10, 2023
    Team: Welsh Fire Women
    Against: Birmingham Phoenix Women
The Hat-Trick Ball: With the Phoenix needing just 4 runs off 3 balls at Edgbaston, the South African pace legend bowled an ice-cool final delivery to rattle Issy Wong's stumps, completing a dramatic hat-trick on the final three balls of the match to secure an unlikely win.

  4. Tymal Mills
    Date: August 12, 2023
    Team: Southern Brave Men
    Against: Welsh Fire Men
The Hat-Trick Ball: The death-overs specialist used his lethal variation at Sophia Gardens, tricking his third consecutive batsman with a deceptive slower ball to clear out the tail.

  5. Sam Curran
    Date: August 4, 2024
    Team: Oval Invincibles Men
    Against: London Spirit Men
The Hat-Trick Ball: At the absolute home of cricket that is Lord's (home ground of London Spirit), executed a perfect wide yorker that found the fine edge of the dangerous Andre Russell, straight through to the keeper to seal a masterclass day out.

  6. Kathryn Bryce
    Date: August 11, 2024
    Team: Manchester Originals Women
    Against: Northern Superchargers Women
The Hat-Trick Ball: The Scottish international tore right through the Superchargers' powerhouse lineup at Emirates Old Trafford, getting Georgia Wareham caught to secure her hat-trick and finish with an unbelievable 5-wicket haul.

  7. Sonny Baker
    Date: August 17, 2025
    Team: Manchester Originals Men
    Against: Northern Superchargers Men
The Hat-Trick Ball: Steaming in at Old Trafford, Baker marked his clinical spell by picking up three wickets in three consecutive deliveries to utterly crush the Superchargers' chase.

  8. Luke Wood
    Date: July 30, 2026 (Today!)
    Team: Southern Brave Men
    Against: Birmingham Phoenix Men
The Hat-Trick Ball: In a breath-taking final set at the Utilita Bowl, Wood got Dwarshuis and Currie back-to-back. On his hat-trick ball, Saqib Mahmood jammed it into the dirt for a frantic single, forcing the third wicket of the sequence via an unbelievable Adil Rashid run-out throw to award Wood his well-earned, historic hat-trick.

THE TOTAL WRECKAGE
Women: 5 wickets
Men: 9 wickets
14 total wickets dropped in one day.
Phoenix didn’t just lose today. They got completely obliterated twice.

OUR POINTS
Women: 16 points
Men: 4 points
Combined: 20 points
SOUTHERN BRAVE ARE FIRST OVERALL.

OUR DOUBLE‑HEADER DOMINANCE
This year: We are officially the fourth team to secure a double win.
Last year: We were the first team in history to get a double win by beating the Manchester Originals twice on opening day.
Brave double‑headers are becoming an absolute tradition.

THIS IS WHY WE ARE BORN BRAVE! GREEN ARMY RISE UP!💚🖤💚🖤💚🖤💚🖤💚🖤🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
