Here's my scruffy, fluffy boy! Moxxie T. Crumbfinder, the Crumbfinder General. He was the first of my dogs to get a DNA test, cuz what even is he?? 😂 He's small in stature, but built like a brick. 😂 He's deceptively heavy. He's also the bravest dog I've ever known.

This is Velvet, my angel, my love, my everything. The sweetest girl in the world, full of love and anxiety. Always the first to console me if I'm upset.

The other day, while I was coming into the house, she slipped out around my legs and sprinted full speed into the street. I watched in horror as she was hit and run over by a large SUV. My heart stopped, I was screaming, I thought for sure she had died. When she came limping back to the house with her tail tucked, I thought for a split second that I was seeing a ghost. I immediately started checking her over, but couldn't find anything wrong, she was just dirty and had tire print on her. I had my roommate quickly carry her to the car so we could get her to the vet. The woman who had hit her, a lovely, caring woman, had come to the house, saying she thinks she's really hurt, she felt her go under her tires. Very apologetic, honestly the nicest person who could possibly run over your dog. By this point I could see some of Velvet's wounds starting to bleed. Thankfully our vet is just down the street and were ready to take her in immediately. (They know us VERY well there, our dogs are accident prone. Especially Velvet.) They did a thorough exam, including full body X-rays... AND SHE'S FINE. Of course she has some pretty bad bruising and a couple of lacerations, (and a weird spot where it looks like her fur got cut) but she literally got out of the whole ordeal with just 2 little staples in her leg. The vet said she's lucky she's so stout. 😂 I guess being 73lbs of pure Pittie muscle has its benefits. Of course we're keeping a very close eye on her and giving her her meds, but she's actually getting around pretty well, all things considered. She's limping, but you'd never guess she just got run over.

I am blessed every moment I get to spend with her, and I'm so incredibly grateful that the powers that be didn't take her from me. We're having a fence put up in our front yard to prevent any further mishaps.
