* I've repeatedly read to not add mods to an actively running game. Why not?
* And are downloaded mods that are in your mod folder* but not activated, ie the box not checked off, count as added before (OK) or after (not OK)?
For example, one mod author, Kildozery, went in and tidied up all 13 major questlines. Will my game run in some way better, faster?, if I download all 13 but only activate the quests my particular character is running?
* In the past I've run games and added mods along the way without anything majorly bad happening, that I know of. What is the downside of sticking most mods into a current game?
Very interested to hear about this.
* PS running without MO2 or Vortex. Have tried both recently and both crashed in weird ways and trashed mod loads representing weeks of work.
" Manual install is not recommended. "
Having had both MO2 and Vortex spontaneous destroy weeks long installs of 100+ mods that worked perfect before crash. Game still ran but well over half of the mods that worked an hour before were removed.
I very much enjoy this mod. And advice on how to get it working?
Building a new MO2 Instance and would like to be able to save the 'base load' and copy it to build a different load on top of it, like different Balmora overhauls, BCOM on one and Odai.
I tried this once before and somehow BOTH the original Instance and the new Instance that was supposed to be a copy but with a different name were Trashed.
If there are two city mods and I'm not sure which I want, can I install both in MO2 and run MO2 with one to review it and then via MO2 select the other mods to review it without messing things up?
Using MO2 I have an Instance I've built up with basic mods and want to experiment with BCOM and Odai Lifeblood of Balmora in a separate copy of my current Instance.
How can I copy an Instance to experiment on?
I have build an Instance in MO2 and want to experiment without risking it.
I want to preserve my working instance untouched, but experiment with BCOM and Odai Lifebook of Balmora in separate versions, separate instances, of the base instance.
Wanting to be able to save what I've build and experiment on a save copy of that instance.
Have tried without success.
