What went down at Ahmedabad
I was there at the stadium today, and regardless of the result, I just want to say that I am so proud of the Yellow Army.
CSK fans clearly outnumbered the GT fans, it was a sea of yellow in the stadium. The crowd was loud from the very beginning and just erupted after Gill’s wicket. (I think this is what triggered gill in the first place lol)
No DJ or songs could hold us back. Despite the abysmal show, every boundary was cheered as a ray of hope.
A little kid was sitting behind me in the stands (Block R) - hardcore CSK supporter. He wore the jersey with pride and cheered every six and cried hard at every wicket. His mom offered him a GT jersey and asked him to cheer for GT, and the little dude said “Jeete ya haare, mai CSK ko hi support karunga” - won my heart, we bumped fists like bros and just suffered through the match together. If your father is somehow reading this post, sir you raised your kid right.
The people in the stadium started leaving as soon as Brevis’ wicket fell down. The stadium was empty, everyone left, and all of them were number 7 jerseys.
I want to let that kid and every single one of the CSK supporters know that you made this team what it has been for the last couple of decades, be there with them through this period as well. We have a lot of potential and who knows, next year might be ours. Atleast we are lucky that we didn’t have to wait for 18 years to get our hands on the trophy.
