Picked up a lovely Kuwahara today to restore/rebuild for my partner. While taking all the components off I ran in to two things I haven’t encountered before. If anyone can advise that’d be great.

The bar ends come off with one bolt but then there is an insert in the handlebars. The inserts are super tight. Didn’t see it before so wanted to check here before I break out the hammer…

I also haven’t encounter a bottom bracket with a nut inside before if I remember correctly, but my bottom bracket tool for square taper does fit. How do I go about removing the cranks in this case?

Any advice is appreciated!

Not mine, just came by it while bike browsing online. Never seen anything like this before and not sure if I’m loving or hating it. What do we think, twisted tubes yay or nay?

Just out of curiosity, is this truly something rare and special or is it just completely insane?
