An update on Merl

Just thought I would post a wee update on Merl as a lot of people asked about him after my post last week.

Does anyone know this cat?

Despite numerous social media posts with over 1000 shares and 100k views no one came forward to claim him. The lack of neutering or microchip could point to him being abandoned.

I contacted numerous charities to see who could help and the amazing folks at Glasgow Pet Collective stepped forward and helped find him a foster.

So on Saturday after four nights loafing with us GPC found a foster and we dropped him off. They will continue to work on getting him permanently adopted.

I decided to make a donation to cover his vet fees and thought sticking it on a fundraiser would be a good idea. So if anyone who was interested in his story feels inclined to throw in a quid it would be massively appreciated and help GPC care for other animals.

Anyone know this cat?

This Cat was stuck in the Wallace Street stairwell yesterday morning, opened the door for him so he could leave but he just sat in a corner all day shaking and scared.

He was still there at 5pm so took him to the vet, unfortunately no microchip and no tag. Phoned a few cat charities who couldn't take him and advice was to let him out where he was found.

Wasn't keen on doing that being that he sat for 8+ hours in a corner shaking next to an open door he could easily have left.

Spoke to building security who have seen him the last couple days about the building and think he's a stray. His fur is quite greasy so prob been outside a little while although he seems in good health.

Have taken him in today and given him food, water and a litter tray. He's spent most of the time sleeping or watching birds from the window. Contacted all the usual charities but no luck.

Checking on the off chance anyone recognises him.
