UPDATE - Massive Regret Post Surgery

Update to this thread: Massive Regret Post Surgery

I wanted to post an update to my post from last month. As a quick summary, I'd had distance TOL lenses inserted into both eyes and was really struggling to get used to my new, limited eye sight.

I really appreciated all the advice and comments people made so I wanted to provide a follow-up. I spoke to my doctor. At the start he was reiterating that I'd got 20/20 vision as expected. I think he was thinking I was trying to blame him but once I clarified that I understood he'd done a good job which had gone as expected and wasn't blaming him he softened up. I explained that, when he said I'd need readers, I didn't really understand exactly how limited my near-sight was going to be. I think it was pretty clear how much the change in eye sight had impacted me mentally.

The doctor took me through the options as the 5 min appointment turned into two hours. The end result was I underwent a lens exchange with the doctor removing one of the distance lenses and replacing it with a near-vision lens. The surgery was a bit longer than normal and he did inject the muscles around my eye to reduce motion.

It's been four days and I'm slowly getting used to blended vision. I'm already able to read my phone, see my food and read my laptop screen. So far I've been very happy with the results.
