WIBTA to follow through with my "deal breaker"

My boyfriend (21M) and I (21F) had discussed the hypothetical of me being a midnight ballerina early into us talking. I wanted to know his opinion on it because its been a heavily considered topic to me and I have always seen it as a deal breaker. He always reassured me that he would be supportive if the time ever came and he wouldn't have an issue with it or look at me differently. Now coming up on 6 months the topic came up again since we've hit some financial setbacks and hes fully switched up on me. Suddenly he wouldn't agree with me doing it and shuts me down anytime I try to talk about it. His reasoning to lying in the beginning was and I quote "I didnt want to seem like a dick". But is this not a dick move to switch up on me now, I was always straightforward on the topic and open with my opinion but why couldn't he do the same to me. Should I drop it and forget my past considerations of it being a deal breaker or just push the topic again?
