This is obviously an old photo but for me it’s the pop punk princess of the 2000’s, Avril Lavigne.

The fact that I was there opening night in Chicago was a blessing. They say third time’s a charm and it was my third ever concert. But all good things must end. Best show of my lifetime. If I ever go to another concert, it’s going to be extremely difficult to top that one.

The moment you enter the mission and are outside the entrance after hearing the second most distressing set of 911 calls in the game (number 1 IMO being Elephant), everything you see and hear, the wailing sirens, flashing lights, piles of bodies, pools of blood, bullet casings, and of course, the ringing cell phones immediately sets the tone for the level. It’s the game telling you, “you’re in for a tough ride”. I remember when I first played the mission and entered my jaw dropped seeing all the bodies and I was like “holy shit”. One of my comrades even said before entering, “…trying to send a message”. Even the police who are used to seeing the worst of the worst in society couldn’t believe what they were seeing. The scary part about the level is actually its premise. For those who don’t know, the level was allegedly based on the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting that took place in Orlando Florida that left 49 people dead and many more injured. It was at the time America’s deadliest mass shooting until it was overtaken by the Vegas strip massacre a year later. However it does hold the record as the deadliest hate crime motivated shooting in US history as Pulse was an LGBTQ themed nightclub. The shooter, Omar Mateen was an ISIS follower much like the gunman in the game and midway into the shooting, Mateen called 911 to pledge his allegiance to ISIS and also telling the operator that the US needs to end their airstrikes in Syria and other middle eastern countries (sound familiar) before police infiltrated the club via an open AC duct to take him down. I like this mission because there’s not much that’s needed to be said and like I said, the tone is immediately set the moment you enter the mission. Hearing the ringing cell phones is truly heartbreaking. I would hate to be a cop going to the home of a victim’s loved ones telling them their relative didn’t make it. Another reason why it’s my favorite mission is because it fuels the quote “art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comforted”. It shows that the game isn’t scared to touch on haunting subjects even when they’re based on real events. There was apparently this story that happened last June where on the 10 year anniversary of the pulse attack, a rainbow was seen shining over the memorial. Members of the LGBTQ community saw it as a message that god was with them.

So while rewatching the third live action sonic the hedgehog movie, there’s a scene where shadow is watching a Hispanic soap opera and this guy in the show named Juan who literally looks like the man, the myth the legend himself (don’t mind the background I was watching it in my apartment)

Found this vid while scrolling. Granted the editors probably had to work like their lives depended on it but I can’t imagine having to fall backwards and seeing what the end results would be.

As I continue living in my apartment away from my home town despite still living in my home state, my parents meanwhile have completely moved out of my childhood home. So this replay run is definitely more personal. I definitely feel like I’m in a similar situation as Max was. The way she had to leave her bestie behind and go to Seattle. I will likely revisit my hometown to see close friends and family later in the year but like I said, I can’t go back to my original home due to my family moving out to another state. I’ve officially moved to my college town to continue my studies. Hearing “To All of You” in the opening has already given me the indication that this run is going to hurt just as much as my first time playing the game when I was a college freshman.

As I get ready for my fourth (but not my final) year of college, I moved into my apartment and had my Displate poster of my favorite game franchise put up

First off, I changed my Xbox background Normally I wait until later in the year to play the games but this time it’s more personal for me. I’ve been in love with this franchise for the last 3-4 years. As I approach my next year of college, things are different for me. My family is moving out of not just my hometown but also my home state that I’ve been attached to pretty much my whole life. So this replay run will definitely feel more personal to me. It reminds me a lot of Max’s situation >!with how she had to leave Chloe behind and move to Seattle. I like feel I’m in a similar situation leaving my childhood friends behind now that I’m moving to my college town while my family moves to a different state.!< I feel like this will be a harder run through to get past.
