[NO SPOILERS] Whats the funniest quote in Lis?
In my opinion its Chloes „A podcast? Dude, I'm a pod in a cast“. It makes me laugh out loud every time.

Hey all, hope this is allowed
I had the chance to write a brief feature piece on recent developments at DontNod and on choice-based games as a whole.
No clickbait stuff, and sorry in advance if you see any ads there whilst reading. But besides that, this gave me a chance to also write some endearing stuff about the OG Life is Strange, as well as Lost Records.
.I do hope that by some miracle, DontNod manages to stay active. God knows how badly I'd pay for a sequel to Lost Records or just a third tape. Hope anyone who checks it out enjoys it! :))
He is a fantastic villain and barely anyone talks about him so I will. I just love how evil he is, I find him interesting the way he manipulates people to get whatever he wants. The way he sees the world is so creepy and scary, i know he's only a villain for a short time on screen and the great thing is most people have no idea (when playing for the first time) he is the one behind it all so its a great twist. He is still the best antagonist in the entire series for me, end of appreciation for this awful person but i love him as a villain. (Screw you Mr Jefferson!)
If David hadn't shown up, do you think Max would have tried something before Jefferson stuck the needle in her neck? Maybe freezing time like she did in Episode 2 and trying to force her arms free, or trying to convince Jefferson to release one of her arms? Or do you think she would have been doomed? What do you think?
does lyla still get her depressive episode if sean calls her in the motel? i called her later at sean’s grandparents’ house and now i feel reaally bad for her wondering if i could prevent it
Just got the original LIS on steam but I am having this issue where the characters have these weird black pixels around their bodies. I understand this game is 11 years old but I have played this before on ps and did not have this issue. My graphics are on the highest so I am not sure what is causing this. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Fix: Turn off Anti-Ailasing (MSAA) and turn on VSync.
Thanks to Agent_PriceField for the solution
this was my first life is strange game i started the free act 1 like 3-4 years ago and i got the game and just completed it like 10 min ago it was amazing but idts it got as much love as the other games also what LIS game should i play now?
Why is Life is Strange important? Why is it that even 11 years later, its managed to stick around in the hearts and minds of so many people? Is it the characters? The setting? The writing, gameplay, or music? I mean, yeah, all those aspects are important, but I can name a dozen pieces of media that nail at least one of these aspects better than Life is Strange does.
And yet, its stuck around. Why?
Well, it’s because, ultimately, the game is one of the few rare instances of True Love being depicted well in media.
Let’s take a step back for a second and think about an aspect that many don’t seem to consider: why is the ending so impactful? Why is it that the final choice has carved its very name into the fandom’s soul, especially since it virtually negates every single choice that happened before it. I mean, the last time a game ended on a single choice that invalidated everything beforehand, the fandom of it, Mass Effect, rioted.
And yet, people don’t talk about that aspect of the ending. They talk about their reasoning, their feelings, their emotions. They talk about futures and characters. Of whom deserves to live and who deserves to die. They never bring up how one of the endings makes little sense, or how the other allows a villain to escape punishment. They never bring up how the logic is skewed, or how it damaged any potential for a franchise.
No, instead they debate characters.
The worth of people.
The value of a single human being versus hundreds.
Why?
Because the game takes time and effort to show just how in love the two main leads are, while keeping them as distinct characters. It puts the central theme of the entire game under the barrel of a gun and then asks for your decision.
And that theme is love.
And that is what makes it so enduring.
Look, I can get into the reasons the game is about love, dissecting each and every aspect of it from here till the end of the universe. But it’s been 11+ years, and I’m not the first to talk about this aspect. What I instead want to talk about is why the aspect of Love, Romantic Love, is such a cornerstone to this game.
See, when LiS 1 came out, we were in the midst of two titanic forces in the US: the legalization of Gay Marriage, and Gamergate. Both heavily affected the queer communities to a startling degree, to the point that many of their aftereffects are still being felt to this day. People literally died because of these two Culture War fronts, and many people were scared to come out of the closet because of it.
I should know, I was one of them.
And then Life is Strange came out, and many people were given a ray of hope in the form of Max and Chloe’s romance. A romance that showed people that it was okay to be gay, that it was okay to have a rough time with your partner and still love them, that it was okay to fall head over heels for someone despite the world itself fighting to keep you apart.
That it was okay to believe in True Love, and to choose that love even as the world screams at you.
Life is Strange… it’s special. Not because of the characters, plot, or setting. Not because of the art style, the music, or the gameplay.
It’s special because it gives us an unfiltered reminder of what love is. Of the hope that one day we too could have what Max and Chloe have. That one day we too would be strong enough to survive that final decision.
That one day we too can find True Love.
And in these times of crippling cynicism, that message is what makes Life is Strange so damn important.
If you had to describe the series, in two sentences, to someone who has never played it before, how would you do it, to get them to play it?
About to start episode 5, Polarized.
Man, I am nervous.
Just replayed it for the second time, and god – it's so damn good. They nailed it with design, music and staying true to canon. I guess I just like Chloe as a main character over Max, the troubled teen's arc overall.
My only real problem with the game was introducing of Sera and spending so much time searching for her. I'd appreciate all three episodes to be focusing on Chloe and her relationship with Rachel.
I was surprised to see it honestly!
I know the game gets a lot of hate, and I don't disagree with a lot of it, but the game was beautiful. The characters, in my opinion, were the strong point of the game, especially Amanda and Moses
There's something incredibly powerful about true friendship. It transcends all labels and subcategories; it's just purely about caring for another person, and them caring about you. Not to say that friendship isn't messy; friends can have falling outs, they can have fights, they can take vastly different directions in their lives.
Max and Chloe are childhood best friends. Max was practically part of the Price family growing up. William's death was tragic, Chloe lost her father, and Max lost someone who might as well have been her own family. This, coupled with Max being forced to move away, created a strain on her and Chloe's friendship.
When I play Life is Strange, I see a story about the deep, but estranged friendship, and a desperate journey to regain it before it's too late.
The game certainly gives options to turn that friendship into a romance, and even nudges the player in that direction. But, for me, the purity of their friendship and the struggle to keep it alive, is what makes Life is Strange such a great story.
