We visited Cape Meares lighthouse today. Got a good view of "Arcadia Bay" and the benches with LiS references.

If I had one wish granted for a change to Lyft...

It would be mandatory minimum time limits for bonus zones to be active. Every zone here tonight is 5-10 mins away and vanishes within 2-3 minutes.

My wish would be for Lyft to be required to have a zone active at least 10 minutes. Would really make them have to consider if trying to move a bunch of drivers across town is worth it - if they are going to do it, they better be ready to pay every driver that makes the trip.

(I go offline if I plan to head that way because I figure it is one less driver they see on their way - but they probably track us even if we are offline anyway.)

Update: I had a 10% zone appear less than a mile away. Checked to see I am the only driver within 4 miles of it. So I go for it. Less than 2 mins later the very INSTANT I hit the freeway onramp where it's 8 miles of nothing to get back to where I was it disappears. I was less than 200 yards from it and it was up for less than 3 minutes. Lyft has absolutely no intention of letting people snag these most of the time - there is no other explanation for one driver getting that close and them pulling it. That shit needs to be illegal (showing bonuses with no intent to allow anyone to claim them.)

Really wish the government (U.S.) would step in and force a complete independent audit of Lyft/Uber software and algorithms to make sure they are playing fair. Fuck their "proprietary" claims...

S25 keeps muting sound & mic on its own

There is no rhyme or reason. It just happens at random - sometimes overnight while I am not using it. I don't notice it until someone can't hear me on a call (it mutes the mic.) It is not the acessibility shortcut Google AI talks about (Vol Up + Power doesn't do anything.)

(PC) Why can't I wrangle Belle? I completed stealth and am on the Stuck in a Rut quest.

I've tried every side of the bird and confirmed the quest step is currently "Capture Belle." I followed YouTube guides, as well.

WIP (US) Pacific Northwest map

Something I've been working on for about 20 hours now. Still a ways to go, but it's starting to come along. Working on fine-tuning some of the areas. I tried to capture the feel of coming out of the passes over the Cascades and into Puget Sound. Yes, it needs a beefy PC due to all the trees and so far it is using NAO mod for roads and also some WE stuff. Trying to keep the mod requirements to a minimum. Any suggestions/feedback?

Arial view of the map

On/off-ramps to the starting tiles

Same ramps, different view.

Campground (aesthetic only - WIP, especially the roads)

Arial view of the highway through the pass

Mountain meadow looking towards the pass (using optional Grass Sprites mod)

Meadow looking over the Sound

Why is the tunnel function so, so bad?

Try # 30 in the last hour to make this not look like crap. It shouldn't be this difficult. I finally got it to stop trying to put an 80 ft tall retaining wall halfway through the mountain with a tunnel for the last 100 ft only to have it do this crap at the entrance. The funny thing is I can build the road the opposite way and it makes the tunnel perfectly, but then if I try to replace it running the right way it makes a cutout instead of a tunnel no matter what options I have selected.

What changes to TNC driver policies would you demand if you cpuld force them to comply?

If all U.S. Uber/Lyft drivers unionized nationally what changes would you like to see? Here's my list:

*Acceptannce Rate means ACCEPTANCE RATE. If I accept the ride that is all that I need to do for it to count - if the pax cancels or the ride is reassigned that is not my problem. I agreed to take the ride offered. Otherwise it is a COMPLETION RATE.

*On the topic of reassigning rides: once I accept a ride it does not get reassigned to another driver unless I go offline or cancel it. I have lost good rides to that bushit (I know because it gets added to my queue but vanishes after I drop off current ride and there is no "Queued ride canceled" message.) They gave the rider an ETA. It doesn't matter if another driver goes online 2 blocks away - I accepted the ride. It is mine. Does not affect ride switch offers.

*All drivers get the same challenege offers and bonus zones and the zones are the same type (% or $.)

*Bonus zones must stay active for at least 15 minutes, regardless of how many drivers are heading that way. They must include a timer. They can stay up longer, but must stay up until the timer is done.

*No more fucking map/radar trips. Those are just bullshit and a needless gamification of the process and a distraction. Treat them like any other ride - if it looks like a shit ride they can wait while it goes through all the rejections.

*No changing payment policies without majority approval from drivers. This last change they sold as better for drivers, when what they actually did was moved away from splitting the taxes and fees with drivers to taking them all out of our 70% cut.

*Taxes/fees must be itemized. If they can't account for it, they don't deduct it.

*TNCs get away with not calling us employees by positioning themselves as matchmakers between providers (us) and clients (pax.) If the pax is our client then we have a right to know what claims they are making against us. No more hiding behind "privacy" to avoid giving us details needed to defend against baseless accusations. That's a cop-out to avoid having to actually pay someone to review our own evidence in our defense. Any evidence the TNC used to make their decision must be shared with the driver.

*No aribitration clause. Arbitration may be preferred, but we should not be denied other legal avenues and this should not be part of T&Cs.

*Sick time benefits (in WA we have them) accrual rates must scale with the marketplace. Giving an hour for every 40 hours with a pax onboard is fine in Seattle. In smaller markets it can take a six months to a year to earn just 4 hours off (minimum block that can be claimed.) Or just change it to online hours...

Thoughts? Anything I missed?

I hate this crap

Only real busy bar area in town. "3-6 min wait" in the area and I've gotten 3 of these bullshit requests from across town in the last 30 minutes and absolutely no other offers.

We really need a filter to limit PICKUPS to a certain distance (but not dropoffs, too, like area filter does.)

ReLive is still filling drive with recordings despite everything being disabled

This only happens on my son's Windows 11 profile. On mine it never creates any videos. But when he plays for a few hours and I get back on I find my C drive is completely full again and the ReLive folder is full of more than 30 GB of new videos after deleting them all the previous time. This is how the Radeon software settings for recording have been set for months and through multiple reinstalls of the software. I can't figure out why it keeps recording. I removed the hotkey for recording, as well.

https://preview.redd.it/lvi0fnxkca5h1.png?width=1712&format=png&auto=webp&s=490c2cc8c209ef225c1afdf01a9b1ac62d835e7c

I need the Radeon software for tweaking my GPU settings so just uninstalling it isn't an option, but neither is having my C drive full constantly.

(Not including the system details as I don't think it is relevant and would muddy up the post.)

For now I have made the ReLive folder Read-Only. Hopefully that stops it, or at least when it tries to record it will throw an error to help track down what is trying to place files there. Hoping someone on here already knows the answer.

My brother's game freezes frequently but only on a server hosted in his city.

I have a dedicated server in Portland, OR (GameHostBros.) I chose that location because it is relatively close to me (200 miles) and my brother lives there. He had had some connectivity issues (dropped connection) with a pervious server (GPortal) in Seattle, so I chose one right by him. Unlike the last server, this one he has not dropped connection issues but frequent freezing/hitching (desync?) both in and out of combat. I had him try playing the same areas in single player and he has no issues there, so it is something involving the server or being connected to it.

Other than the basics (rebooting the server, rebooting his router/modem/computer) can anyone think of anything that would be causing it to freeze only when playing on a dedicated server?

Desyncing is common in other places (especially when riding on my airship - if he doesn't sit down on a chair he will randomly fall off.) This may also be what is happening when the game freezes in combat but I can't be sure. I would hate to think that a server a few miles from him is having issues with him that don't exist with me 200 miles away.

Controlled tribesmen dying of thirst when AFK is annoying

Basically I left someone for 2 hours making hundreds of armor pieces to level up armorsmithing and they had water in inventory, but since I was controlling them to get the massive bonus crafting XP from the mask they lost all sense of self preservation and died of thirst with a waterskin RIGHT THERE.

This is beyond annoying because nobody finds sitting there for 2 hours watching a crafting queue and hitting the drink every 10 minutes "fun."

Fortunately I had him saved - but lost probably 50 levels of progress in armor smithing.

Yes, I know we can disable or slow down water consumption on dedicated servers. It is just annoying that it has to be manually done ONLY when controlling someone.

Specific recipes can't be crafted at stations

Odd issue. Originally I had this issue with any sandstone building parts on the Building Workshop but that resolved itself. Now I am having it with Plant Essence on the Brewing Stand. Mentioned recipeS and stationS as I am sure this will happen again.

If I am controlling my alchemist (so I can get the bonus Alchemy XP from the mask) and double click Plant Essence the game flat refuses to start processing the request. The screen jerks a little bit as the crafting animation stops, but then the thrall just goes back to standing still and no recipe is started.

If I switch to another thrall and set it to Planned Queue the assigned thrall (who I was controlling before) will start it. If I then take over it will finish the current one, but then stop if there are more in the queue. If I tap spacebar to start again it does the same animation as above but won't start.

The video here shows after I started with the auto-crafting and switched to my alchemist. The red icon just says "waiting for caretaker" as if it can't be manually crafted (even though everything else can.)

What I have done:

Moved Brewing Table out into the open.

Retrieved it and placed it down again.

Restarted dedicated server.

Same talent 3x in a row...

Are specific talents just weighted higher for training or are they preselected and no amount of training will change that? 3x the same talent (Backpack Expansion) was learned when I am trying to train Weaponsmith's Focus to my 125 weapon crafter. This is why I have the training speed set to about 7.5 minutes lol.

Also... I made 4x psychedelic pot for my training amnesia potions... forgot to put them in the box before switching tribesmen. The one who had them was a hungry hippo and ate 2, then the one I was controlling that I grabbed the other two with decided to auto-eat one of them. So it looks like I am going to look for more mint... Totally me not paying attention but feel my pain.

Twice this week Lyft has sent me this message when I haven't even been online or had the app open for hours. Just seems to be randomly spamming it to me. Never before in almost 2 years have they sent this. When I am online I never have a bad network connection so I don't know what makes them think it is necessary.

u/Not_the_name_I_chose — 3 months ago

I will be about $10 short of Elite goal this month. Lyft's bonus to make up for taking too much does NOT count towards points (I know b3csuse I have checked befoee) but if they took the right amount out in the first place then the extra dollsr here and there would count. This is they type of games they play.
