My thoughts on the Z fold 8 28.89 days later

I’ve been using the Galaxy Z Fold 8 for a little while now, and I honestly didn’t expect my opinion on it to change this much.

There are things about this phone that I immediately loved, but there are also a few things that I thought I would care about way more than I actually do.

The wider cover screen has completely changed how I use the phone, the inner display is still something I find myself opening just because I can, and I’m starting to realize that using a foldable every day is less about having a “phone that turns into a tablet” and more about having a phone that gives you different ways to use it depending on what you’re doing.

And some of the little things have surprised me too. The way it feels in my hand, how often I actually unfold it, the camera experience, and even how differently I interact with apps compared to a normal phone.

I’m still figuring out exactly where I stand with it, but that’s honestly what makes this phone so interesting to use. I feel like every few days I notice something I didn’t think about when I first picked it up.

Curious what other Fold users have experienced what’s something about your Fold that you didn’t really understand or appreciate until you had been using it for a while?

Do you think Samsung will make this format?

Huawei has unveiled this new non-folding, 16:9.5 format today—I love it.

An official Samsung store in my country is literally selling brand-new Galaxy Tab S9s when they're literally on the verge of being dropped from software support 💀

It costs $692 as a reference 💀😭

What are some of your non-negotiable when it comes to a phone case?

I’m curious as to what your perfect phone case would be. I’ve mostly lived in the Apple world but as a product developer, I’d be interested in how different device users view the accessories you like to use. Thanks in advance!

Samsung Galaxy A17 5G keeps auto downloading apps without my permission

So, I got this phone 2 weeks ago and I've noticed every 2 - 3 days it downloads HBO Max overnight. I have never once downloaded this app intentionally as I don't have an account and I keep uninstalling it.

I've tried removing the auto update features in Google Play and in the Settings but it keeps coming back. Is this a bug or a feature? Is there a way to block an app from downloading?

Please help

Thoughts on Z fold 8 ultra after 2 weeks

So its been 2 weeks since getting the 8 Ultra and I love it. Worth trading in my S25 Plus for the $1,900 carrier promo credit. At 6.5in display and having the same width as the base s26 for the front display makes it a very solid day to day phone without having to open all the time like the previous models. I've owned the fold 3, fold 4, fold 6 and pretty much every S ultra lines with some pluses in between.

Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones but I've never had any issues with heating or screen displays. People freak out about peeling the inner screen protector but that's the first thing I did was replace it with a matte screen protector. At first I had put the privacy protector on the inner screen then changed it to just a matte one which works great. Visibility is awesome just as long you get a high quality one, i hate glares. But in my front screen I do have the privacy matte protector and have no complaints.(DOES NOT RUIN YOUR SCREEN TAKING OFF YOUR INNER SCREEN PROTECTOR AND DOES NOT VOID YOUR SAMSUNG WARRANTY)

I've ran multiple applications, gaming, be on video call while charging, ran apps like Rave that would usually heat up phones and it has stayed cool the whole time. Game extended periods and the cooling on it has been great.

My honeymoon phase for any phone goes away after like an hour of receiving it so this is a phone I can definitely recommend if you want a foldable. You can't go wrong with the 8 wide either but after playing with it multiple times, I liked the ultra feel better. This is probably the first Samsung Foldable that's worth keeping a couple of years if your not the type of person to upgrade all the time and take advantage of your carrier deals, people talk about how expensive it is but who really pays full price. I'm only in the phone for $200 overall.

If the fold is not your cup of tea and looking to upgrade, wait for the s27 ultra which would have alot of the cons from the s26 ultra worked out. S26u runs a little warm compared to my fold 8 ultra but I'm sure it gets fixed with the s27u like what samsung has always done. Fold 7 little warm but it got fixed with the fold 8 ultra models. I always advice people to wait 1 model after any major changes with any phone company and take advantage of preorders.

Audio issue on Samsung s21 FE

What should I do if there's no sound in videos in my gallery and Google Photos, but there is sound in TikTok? On Instagram, the video freezes when I turn on the sound. The same problem occurs with Bluetooth headphones. Reinstalling the OS via csc_home didn't help. Samsung S21 FE

Can you see or feel the crease on your Fold 8?

Hey guys! How are you liking the Fold 8 so far? After a while, can you see/feel the crease under your fingers? I can barely see mine, and when I run my finger over it, I can feel it slightly more in certain spots.

S26+ vs S25 Ultra — which one would you choose if they’re almost the same price?

Hey everyone!

I know there probably isn't that much to debate between these two phones, but I'm genuinely stuck and would love to hear some opinions.

I'm currently using a Galaxy A52, and after around 5 years it's starting to act up, so I think it's finally time for me to upgrade to a new phone.

The problem is... I don't really have a good guide on which Samsung phone I should go for.

Where I live, I can get the S26+ and S25 Ultra for roughly the same price, which makes the decision even harder.

From what I've seen:

  • S26+ → newer generation, newer processor/features, potentially better efficiency and longer remaining software support.
  • S25 Ultra → better and more versatile camera system, S Pen, bigger display, and generally more "Ultra" hardware/features.

But at almost the same price, I'm wondering whether it's better to get the newer S26+ or go for the previous-generation S25 Ultra with all the extra hardware.

I'm not really looking for the absolute best camera or gaming performance. I'm more interested in overall value, productivity, functionality, longevity, thermal performance, battery life, and just having a phone that will last me several years.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Got Samsung S26 256GB for ₹60K including exchange

Recently bought the Samsung Galaxy S26 256GB (Cobalt) for ₹60K including exchange.
Here’s the deal:
● ₹2.5K instant SBI credit card discount during the Independence Day sale
● Exchanged my Samsung S21 FE with a 6–7 green-line issue — got ₹10K exchange value
● Final phone price: ₹60K including exchange
● Also paid ₹6K extra for a 2-year extended warranty, which was offered at 50% off for purchases above ₹60K
The offer was available during the Independence Day sale.
For those who recently bought the S26, what was the best price you managed to get, including exchange and bank offers?

Finally the end of the road for this warrior.

After 7 full years, my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has reaxhed the end of its journey. It has fallen from rooftops, it has seen its fair amounts of puddles and showers, mud and sand, everything that would've killed it. It has never (not even once) touched a repair shop or anything. Everything is as it was since day 1 of its release.

The display its dying, and I won't spend $350 repairing an old and aging phone. So Ill get the S26U instead.

Its been a hell of a run soldier, time to finally rest.
