I’m about to upgrade, but I’m genuinely torn on the design shift.

On one hand, the S24 Ultra feels like a true, uncompromising productivity brick—it has that aggressive, sharp Note identity that sets it apart from every other phone. On the other hand, a lot of people say the S26 Ultra’s new rounded corners make it way more comfortable to hold without digging into your palm.

I know the hardware inside the S26U is newer, but purely from a design, look, and hand-feel perspective: Which side are you on? Do you miss the sharp edges or do you prefer the rounder comfort? Tell me why, because I can't decide which vibe I want.

J'étais chez Apple jusqu'à l'iPhone 16 Pro, puis je suis passé au S25 Ultra, puis au S26 Ultra en début d'année, et aujourd'hui je viens de changer pour le Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Bref, c'est un vrai bazar ! Chez Apple, tout était unifié avec iCloud, Mac, iPad et Apple Watch. Aujourd'hui, je suis sur un combo PC Lenovo (Windows) et Samsung. C'est un peu déroutant et je me sens perdu.

Comment faites-vous, vous qui êtes chez Samsung depuis longtemps ? Je ne regrette absolument pas d'avoir franchi le pas — je me sens beaucoup plus libre —, mais en même temps un peu déboussolé.

So I have the Galaxy Note 9 which still works perfectly fine except that I noticed that the AMOLED display doesn't work except in always on display otherwise it never works and it always emits some sort of light.

At first I thought that's the problem is the pictures and the wallpaper isn't actually pure black but I've made some real pure black pictures and tried them and they always emit some sort of light and even the system apps and the control center and everything always emit some sort of light and the same goes for a third party apps, so I don't know what's the problem exactly I tried to search in the settings and everything looks fine and by the way the screen was never replaced or something so what do you think the problem is?

Should i buy s24 plus 12/256 with exynos 2400 or s25 12/256 in 2026 as i am little bit confused between both antutu scores are just 3-4 lakhs different but I need for an overall usage and value for money deal

Planning to buy a Samsung Ultra for my wife. Main priorities are camera and software experience.

S25 Ultra is available at a good discount, while S26 Ultra costs more.

For those who have used both:

• Is the S26 Ultra camera improvement significant?
• Is it worth paying extra for the S26 Ultra?

Would appreciate honest opinions, especially from S25/S26 Ultra owners.

I pre-booked and bought an S25 Ultra on day one, Feb of 2025, and now 3rd of October 2026, my phone is suddenly defunct. I get a call from a regular contact, and as I'm about to pick it up, the phone makes a loud and persistent sound for about 5-10 seconds before shutting down completely. It automatically reboots soon after and starts working fine. About 10 mins later, in the middle of a normal usage, the phone reboots again, and this happens 6-7 times that evening.

Later, the phone gets stuck on the boot screen (the one with the Samsung logo) and stays there getting pretty hot until it completely drains all the battery. Once it has fully drained, I charge the phone and boot it, and voila, it works! That night, the phone works normally and I ensure all the backup is taken just in case (I anyhoo have a back-up of my WhatsApp and Photos to my NAS on a daily basis so there wasn't much extra left to do).

Next morning, my phone is still alive, and just as I am about to text someone, it turns off again, making the same sound it made earlier. This time though, it never really fully boots up. I try all sorts of things - Power and Volume down for normal hard reboot, Power and Volume up while connected to a laptop for a recovery mode, I even managed to get into recovery once and do a factory reset from there, and the phone did momentarily boot up fine on the welcome screen - but in the middle of my onboarding it dies again.

I showed it to my local Service Centre, and they said the motherboard is faulty (it's their favorite thing to say, isn't it?). The cost of replacement is INR 57 thousand (about $592 USD). They confirmed that there is no water damage, no dent/scratch or any sign of physical damage. It's absolutely pure bad luck.

He even said there have been no cases of the S25 Ultra dying like this randomly, it truly is one of a kind rare occurrence.

I feel devastated. I bought into the Samsung ecosystem after having used the S21FE for about 3 years, and it grew on me. In fact, I'm using my old S21 FE as a temp phone rn. I use their default services almost religiously - the wallet, DEX amongst others, and it's genuinely a shame that a flagship product like this dies withing such a short time and the company takes no responsibility. I understand that a warranty exists for a reason, but a flagship phone dying in these circumstances is equally rare and unlikely, and if anyone needs to take responsibility for it, it sure as hell shouldn't be the consumer.

A phone that is designed for 7 years of software updates surely has been given enough thought in the hardware department that it should last AT LEAST to see all the updates.

I have tried raising this issue with Samsung customer care and have had them escalate it to the higher ups, and I genuinely hope I get a reasonable resolution.

Has anyone had an experience along these lines? Feels tough to see a 1200 USD paperweight on my desk.

Samsung keeps redesigning the Galaxy Ultra in small, restless steps, and after five years the phone still has no settled face.

Put an iPhone 12 Pro next to an iPhone 16 Pro and most people would struggle to tell which is which. Do the same with a Galaxy S22 Ultra and a Galaxy S26 Ultra and you see two different ideas of what an Ultra should be. Each year Samsung changes the corners, the frame, the camera housing or the S Pen. None of these changes is huge alone. Together, they leave buyers unsure what the Ultra actually stands for.

Five Ultras, five different ideas

The Ultra has changed something visible in every generation since it absorbed the Galaxy Note in 2022, and several of those changes were later undone.

The pattern is the problem. Titanium arrived in 2024 as a premium selling point and was gone two years later. The camera bump was removed in 2022 as a signature look, then brought back in 2026. The squared-off Note shape that defined the Ultra is now being rounded toward the regular Galaxy S phones. Reviewers have noted the S26 Ultra is drifting further from the Note-style design.
