Samsung Note 10+ PROTOTYPE "Project R6" keyless phone

Hey everyone,

you might recognize me from a previous post about my pressure sensitive Note10+ (Project R6). Well, I somehow managed to find a second one, this time in better condition!

For those who didn't see my last post:

This is an extremely special internal Samsung prototype, developed around late 2018 to mid 2019, being cancelled only months before release. This phone was supposed to feature no physical buttons, instead having pressure sensitive zones in place of the volume controls and bixby button. All you need to do is apply pressure to them, and you'll feel a vibration when it activates. This technology works surprisingly well and reliably when you *want* to activate them, but it has the unfortunate side effect of also activating when youre not paying attention (like holding the phone casually in your hand, or slipping it into your pocket).

While the leaks and "goal" was to create a fully buttonless phone, Samsung likely never reached that stage in production, as this is the latest revision featuring the pressure technology. And as you can see in the pictures, it isnt entirely buttonless as theres still a physical power button on the top side of the phone (fully functional).

Also, this phone features an Exynos 9820 chip with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which was never an option as the Note10+ came with 256GB minimum. SD card slot is remove with only your fingernail, likely for easier testing.

For anyone who wants a demonstration of the buttons, I have a YouTube Short uploaded, yes it is the other one I own but they work identically.

Here are some more sources for whoever wants to know a bit more about the leaks and rumors in 2019, I really do recommend checking them out!

S22 Ultra Flat Screen Prototype

Same revision as the one seen in these leaked images:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sammyfans.com/2023/01/11/possible-galaxy-s22-ultra-flat-display-prototype-is-here-check-out/amp/

Sadly mine is missing the backside :/

It seems to me that the previous owner flashed oneui 6.0 onto this device since engineering prototypes usually run an early build of the software the phone eventually launched with, in this case oneui 4.1

Aside from that, its actually in really good condition and everything from the cameras to the s-pen and speakers works perfectly.

If you want more images or if you wanna see something specific, DM me or ask in the comments, ill make a follow-up post if needed.

Slight self promotion but check out my other posts, i also own a really interesting Note10+ prototype with functioning pressure sensitive buttons.

Yes yes i should blur out the engraved numbers but i highly doubt samsung will be going after a 4 year old phone.

The X100 Ultra still holds up!

Some of my favorite shots I've taken on my Vivo X100 Ultra over the past one and a half years. Crazy good phone even in 2026.

I think I have something pretty rare [Samsung Note 10+ Prototype]

Maybe some of you remember the talks about Samsung using pressure sensitive side buttons for the Note10 lineup instead of physical ones.

Well guess what! Samsung actually made a couple working prototypes - and I've got one :D (well, two, but the screen on the second one is completely dead).

The pressure sensitive side buttons do genuinely work and they allow you to control the volume and activate Bixby. I've got a video to showcase it, but I sadly can't post videos here. I can DM the video to anyone who wants to see it, it's pretty interesting.

It also features a top mounted power button, which the regular Note10+ does not have.

Sadly, touch on the display only works sometimes.. The S-Pen works perfectly tho, so navigation is still possible.

Images 10 - 13 showcase the differences between a retail frame (left) and a prototype frame (right).

Internal markings on the motherboard show that this unit was made around March 2019! Only months away from the release date.

If you guys want to see anything else, feel free to comment and ill make a follow-up post.
