edit: can nonbinary people who AREN’T lesbian use the term?

i’m asking this because i put “DIY femme music promoter” on my new insta bio. my best friend who’s lesbian asked why i put included the term ‘femme’ (i’m bisexual and engaged to a cis man). i told her it’s because i identify as nonbinary but also present as feminine. she told me that term has been historically used by lesbians to identify themselves as masculine or feminine. i wasn’t aware that term was exclusively for lesbians. i asked her if she wanted me to change it, and she said yes because that term is important to her own identity as a lesbian. she did say i can change it to “fem” instead. should i just do that?
