To be honest, it’s a matter of pride for Trump why he continues an unpopular war. Under no circumstances will he admit failure and accept the humiliation of another JCPOA, and would rather fight on than admit defeat.
There's no shadowy plot here, it's plainly obvious. The Administration worked with Israel, and only Israel, to launch a massive military operation that has destabilized the world economy without bothering to consult the nations that would be affected. The President has insulted almost every other ally.
For the Gulf States, for example, the legal justification that Epic Fury was launched "to defend Israel" but not them was especially appalling. The president's loyalists may truly believe that Israel is our only ally, but they are out of touch not only with the rest of the nation, but the world.
