Should I Relax my virgin 4c hair?

I grew up getting relaxers but I’ve been natural for a decade plus. I think I’ve reached a point in my life where I need a low maintenance routine and I don’t want to cover my scalp (i.e. wigs, closure sew-ins). Braids aren’t really that protective and my hair grows the best when I wash it and deep condition weekly. But that’s so time consuming with my thick 4c hair and I don’t know how to style in in the days between washes (I don’t know how to braid my hair, best I can do is a low bun). I have an active lifestyle with workouts, work in a corporate office, and travel frequently and I think it’s just time to close my natural hair chapter, but it’s daunting to consider because a relaxer is so permanent. If I just relax my roots, would that help me achieve some of the relief I’m looking for? I do like curls and volumes it’s just the maintenance I can no longer bear. Welcoming all thoughts, suggestions, etc. thanks in advance!
