I need a support group for friends of people who continue to support Christopher Brown. I am an intelligent Black woman and my friends are intelligent Black women. We all disavow rapists and abusers, Puff, R. Kelly, T**mp, etc. But when it comes to that light skinned menace, all discernment goes out the window for them. I don’t understand! The guy is violent, period. He can sing and dance, so what? To my mind, they may as well go support Puff. What’s the difference? It can feel pretty lonely when you’re made to feel as if YOU’RE the weird one that’s overreacting. I feel like there’s a distance that may form between us because I’m sincerely annoyed by this and honestly, judging them a bit. Anyone else in this situation? Is this just not that big a deal? I’m obviously not considering ending these friendships, I love them. It’s just unfortunate that we don’t agree on this not insignificant thing.
