Alt-Bike stores in SEQLD area?

I’m very very very new to cycling as an adult (44yo male, Gold Coast, riding on a crappy free Aldi bike) and always love looking out for independent companies/artists/creators etc, maybe it’s my background in punk rock and hardcore.

Just wondering if there are any decent indy bike stores in SEQLD outside of the usual corporate big guys like 99 Bikes, Giant, Trek etc who may also stock alt-brands such as Surly, Crust, Kona etc?

When money allows I’d like to upgrade to a gravel bike and hopefully buy from an independent store.

Cyclekarts in Australia!

We had our first live on-track event here on Australia’s Gold Coast last weekend, hopefully the first of many.

I’ll post a link to the YouTube video in the comments below which includes an on board POV lap of the main 1.6km/1 mile circuit filmed from my dad’s Cyclekart.

Hoping for a few more karts at next years event!

Blueberry Cutting

Location: Gold Coast, QLD (zone 4) I took 6 cuttings from my dad’s (mainly uncared for) blueberry shrub about 6 months ago, 5 died as was kinda expected but one has managed to take (all were treated with rooting hormone).

The cutting is just in a generic potting mix at present and while i know blueberry needs a higher acidic soil profile I’ve been hesitant to treat the soil it’s in or repot it due to the small size and fragility of the shoot.

Looking for any advice to help me keep this little battler alive and eventually thriving!?

(I added like 3 or 4 osmocote azalea/rose fert pellets a week ago - I’ve started taking a lot more interest in gardening beyond buying potting mix from Bunnings and hoping for the best, open to all advice)
