Goodbye Guyz

Hey guys,

I was never a active member of this subreddit and had joined it only after the mains. This subreddit gave me alot of laughs alot of stress and alot of relief.

(Just listen to my yap)

My journey began in class 7th when I joined VMC for 8th class, did okay there.

Then came the lockdown. I was managing both coaching and school (attending classes for both) and once again did okay but it all took a toll on my eyes, started seeing blur from one eye. Parents and i understood that it was the excessive screen time so left the coaching at the start of the 9th class.

During this all i also had joined the online course allen had launched for IJSO but really really struggled there and could never really move forward from number system. That call did get me a few calls from other coaching to give a special test which was just a 11th class exam given to a 7th/8th class student. Could not do it so left it.

In 10th did schooling as hard as i could and got 95% in boards.

Joined allen center near me and took dummy schooling.

Was consistently 2 in all mains test and 5th/6th in all advanced test.

Then came the transition from 11th to 12th, the work was all messing up my eyes again, I was having lower back pain consistently and once I got my eyes checked it was -1.5 in one and -2 cylinderical in other.

Decided to leave coaching for maths and physics and did only chem classes. Once again was consistently 2nd in class for mains and 7/8th in advanced test. I did not take any other coaching either online or offline.

Then came the pre-board and project and practical file season. My family is particularly specific about boards so I kind of put mains on the backtrack and took up making project and practical file and wrote my pre-boards. The pre-boards results were pretty messed up but did not put more time in it (i got a passing mark in computer science) and then did mains gor 98.55%ile (22k rank) in mains then totally focused on boards got 94% f*cked my april attempt.

Then came the drop year arc.

Decided in april only that i will take a drop and work on it. Took esaral online batch but did nothing using it, then wrote advanced and got 33xxx rank.

Decided to use cengage for maths, dc pandey for physics, neeraj kumar for physical, did inorganic from vk jaiswal from careerwill, organic from ms chauhan.

Then came October where i kind of had a feeling that i should do mains prep from here so i spammed quizzr chapterwise test and some pyq as chapterwise test and did some pyq as it is.

Then came the january attempt got 99.14%ile. Started doing advanced pyqs and did complete physics pyqs and chem pys except for inorganic did not do much maths pyqs.

Then came the april attempt and i got 99.31%ile with 11k and 206 marks.

Oh man did i get hopium from everywhere that i would atleast get 8k rank but i did not and was sad for a bit of time.

One month left and I did math pyqs and gave qafts for physics and chem only in some and some full with alot of silly mistakes.

Came advanced and i got a score of 120. Was happy for a bit as this years exam was pretty hard from last year so yeah. Got 13k rank and my hope of iit pkd cse was crushed.

I had never dreamed of higher iits but only of these lower ones so i was crushed as even the rank predictions were around 9k.

This sub reddit helped me alot on this journey and was with me through the last patch of my prep.

For those who got better than me "Dont ruin it"

For those who got worse than me, I will tell them what i say to myself "It will be alright, we just have to work hard on college".

For those who can take a drop I would suggest that you take it. It is always helpful but only when you can study diligently without losing focus especially when not taking a offline batch. I had my mother to accompany me through the 3 years and force me to study when i got distracted.

I have a heavy heart writing this as my 6 years of journey comes to an end.

I have applied for JAC Delhi and IIIT Bangalore and JOSAA. If got really loves me I will get IIIT Bangalore (probability = 0%) else IIIT Delhi.

Once again thank you guys and jeeneetards for this amazing journey and keeping me accompanied on this lonely journey.

I will still be a silent spectator but since the exam is over the visits will probably keep on shortening. I will still reply to any comment on this post.

In case we never meet again,

" Good Morning , Good Afternoon , Good evening , Good Night "
