Not worth it

Well guys my brand new 20 day old impact quit on me the other day and then my saw that I bought the same day broke today. 20 days is crazy. I’m a framer and not particularly hard on stuff. Put a couple timberlocks and sds screws in with the impact. Didn’t drop it or anything. Today I was cutting 2x4 and the blade stopped moving while to motor kept going. Now the motor turns but blade does nothing.
My dewalt stuff lasted years. Guess I had to buy it to see its junk. Back to dewalt I go.

Nifty tool suggestions

Hello friends.
I recently had pretty much everything stolen out of my truck while at a docs appt at the VA. I had a lot of stuff. I’m trying to get a list together of tools that you use to make your life easier.
Could be a brand of squares, nail sets, pliers, punches, combo squares, scribe tools etc.
Please drop a brand and tool name below so I can rebuild my tool kit with all the most awesome stuff.
Thanks!!

Hikoki WH36DD

Hello all! I’d like to buy this hikoki impact on eBay but will I need anything adapter wise to make the batteries work? I just picked up the rear handle saw and two multi volt batteries. Pretty excited to be rebuilding the kit with green tools this time. I had yellow for the longest time until someone decided they needed them more and ripped them out of my truck at the Va clinic.

Swapping brands

Well it happened. ALL my tools are gone. I was at the VA for an appointment and I came out and the glass is smashed and about 1800 in tools is gone. I had everything from Dewalt including (6) 9 amp he battery, (2) 8 amps, (5) power stacks 5 amps, worm drive saw, planer, impact hammer, grinders, drivers, etc. everything to build a house. Luckily my tile, table, and miter saws are all at home. I am officially not married to a brand as everything is now corded.

What would you do? Do I rebuild DeWalt? I liked em. They served me well. I’ve had most of them for 10 years. Nothing but my chainsaw has ever stopped working. I’ve framed houses, built furniture, remodeled homes etc with this brand and all the shit people talk is definitely unfounded. I’ve had some red tools too. But my old Milwaukee sawzall would shake so much the battery fell out.

Do I get Makita? Maybe Metabo HPT? I’ve got a healthy budget for some new stuff. I’m super bummed but trying to see the brighter side. Maybe I get to check out another brand.
