Is the Chinese mod done for? Plus a new devlog for Project Extended!

Hey everyone, Extended dev here. I heard there was some kind of incident with the popular Chinese mod, and apparently, the Chinese modders are stopping all support for it. Unfortunately, I haven’t really been following the situation because all my free time goes into my own project. I’d really appreciate it if you could fill me in down in the comments. Thanks!

Now, on to the devlog: My partner and artist, SKAD, and I are fully grinding on the retexturing process. Right now, he is focusing on the in-game environment. Also, our good friend and artist for the AZS project, Denchik, helped us out with the building textures, so a huge shoutout to him!

On top of that, I finally finished the mob spawning mechanics and fully wrapped up all 5 creatures: deer, rabbits, wolves, bears, and zombies. Next up, I’ll start working on mobs with more complex AI. The plan is also to finalize item spawning so I can finally finish the MVP (minimum viable product) version that will actually be playable

And one last thing - I am temporarily putting the co-op mode on hold to focus entirely on finishing the core game. There’s really no point in playing a completely empty game with friends, right? Besides, there are only two people working on this project - myself and my artist. Once the game is in a playable state, we will immediately get back to developing multiplayer

Question: Is it worth creating a Discord server for Extended?

Hey everyone!

Development is moving forward. Right now, I am editing the in-game text to better fit the unique style of the project. At the same time, I am working on the English localization for our global audience

I also have a quick question for you all - is it worth starting a Discord server?

I already post updates on my main Telegram channel. However, I noticed that many of you can't follow the project there for one reason or another. That is why I am considering this new option

Extended: New Devlog!

Hey everyone! Work on version InDev 0.0.2 is in full swing!

Some of you have already tried build 0.0.1. Thank you so much for the warm words in our DMs! We will keep working at the same pace. As a reminder, the project will be completely FREE

Overall, we are fully focused on adding mobs and retexturing the game. Currently, my artist, SKAD, has redesigned all melee weapons and added some new ones. We have added a female character model and are still working on two female variants for other races. Bears, zombies, wolves, deer, and hares have also been introduced

We reworked the car camera and implemented smooth obstacle ramming, just like in the original game. We also added a zoom effect when entering buildings, along with many other features. Right now, I am working on the mob spawning mechanics and implementing Tier-A entities (bandits, companions, neutral dogs, etc.)

Extended: Multiplayer build is live RIGHT NOW!

Hey everyone! I’ve got some awesome news for you: the InDev 0.0.1 playtest build is officially out in public access RIGHT NOW!

⚠️ CRUCIAL WARNING: Please keep in mind that this is a strictly technical, non-playable test build. It is highly unstable and meant only to test basic connection mechanics. If you are looking for a smooth, functioning game experience, do not play this build and wait for the actual release

Why so early and why just a test build?
I’ve decided to tweak my release strategy. Since the newer InDev 0.0.2 version is already heavily gearing up for closed testing, I want to share older builds with you so you don't have to wait forever to experience the project. I'll be doing the exact same thing with future legacy builds as development progresses

📅 The fully playable release is still on track for mid-July.

Quick heads-up: This build has quite a few bugs that I have already fixed in newer versions, so no need to report them. The build has already been tested

New Devlog for Project Extended

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since my last update. I’ve been completely swamped with my main job and also started doing some remote freelance work

Anyway, let's dive right into it. After launching the closed beta and getting a wave of feedback, I shifted my focus to bug fixing. I'm also polishing the game to make it feel like a real gameplay experience rather than just a test build

Right now, I’m working on adding mobs. So far, I’ve refreshed the world generation and added back alleys. I'm also actively developing new structures, including a gas station. You will now be able to refill canisters at fuel pumps and craft Molotov cocktails using an updated crafting mechanic. Liquor can now be used twice, leaving an empty bottle behind. You can then fill this bottle with fuel and add a rag. As you can see, I’ve implemented a multi-stage crafting system

Hey everyone! Check out some gameplay from my project, EXTENDED! It’s still got some bugs, of course, but it’s progress! A titanic amount of work has gone into the project and syncing the core gameplay mechanics. I'll be launching a closed beta very soon; for now, I'm testing the co-op mode with my team to squash any critical bugs

Many of you asked how to become a tester. Unfortunately, we’re only running tests for our supporters from the CIS region right now. But I assure you, the project will enter early beta as soon as we wipe out all the bugs and add some extra gameplay features

Hey everyone! Here’s a new devlog, and it’s a big one. I’ve finally finished the co-op mode! Now, I just need to polish everything before we kick off closed testing

You can now build, farm, fish, loot buildings, and much more together with a friend! We’ve synchronized almost every aspect of the game

Above, you can see screenshots of the multiplayer and the map. As you’ll notice, the map is 4 times larger than the original. It’s also infinite and procedurally generated, just as I mentioned in previous devlogs. We decided to merge the best features of the browser and mobile maps from the original game
