is this realistic?
solo there and back with my GS1250? it has 1300 miles all the crash protection, new off road tires and etc.

you can see how deep it is, i poked a small screwdriver in there and marked it with tape. it’s a bridgestone s22. only 1300 miles.
it’s not leaking. not sure how long that’s been there but i just noticed it.
it’s a few MM’s deep but it’s not leaking… only 1300 miles :(
can any s1000r / m1000r owner with the oem radiator guard help me out here
i just cleaned my radiator and assembled the bike back together, i never noticed this until now but on the right corner there is a massive amount of play in the radiator guard. it springs back and forth quite a bit, the left side is stiff as can be. all grommets and clips are installed and all screws and fairings are in correctly. i even checked like 3 times.
my rad took some damage just now. it still works. just wondering incase something worse happens in the future. oem is like $1600 before shipping, tax and labor. honestly ridiculous.
edit: i thought my 2024 s1000r had the k47, if it’s not that then i have the engine model wrong, but it’s from the 2024 s1000 single R
Hey everyone, I’ve got a 2024 BMW S1000R in pristine shape—2,000 miles, meticulously cared for, no drops. I’m considering taking it to my first track day (Homestead, novice group) but I’m torn. I know I need to improve my leaning and track skills. The problem: my insurance won’t cover track damage. If I crash, even just fairing damage, I’m out of luck financially. On the flip side, renting is around $1,000 a day for a Yamaha R7, (track insured) which is a completely different, lesser-powered machine. Part of me wants to “just send it” with my bike, since that’s my machine. But I’m nervous—what if I wreck it? Anyone else face this dilemma? Pros and cons of renting versus using your own beloved bike?
For me, I’m very obsessive with my bike—I remove the radiator cover every 500 miles and straighten out any bent fins from road debris. So, aside from crashing, what happens to a bike’s aesthetics when you track it? Does track “dogging” it take a toll, like fairing scratches from tire debris? Could there be radiator or oil cooler wear even with a cover? What’s been your experience with the cosmetic toll of regular track use? Let me know!
i’ve straightened fins before, these are too far bent to try, what do you think? it’s on the side where the fan sits behind the rad
I have a shifter kart with a Vortex Rok 125cc two stroke engine that makes about 45HP at peak rpm. From a tiny 125cc. Yes my liter bike will absolutely destroy it on the top end but till about 90-100MPH the kart feels faster, and crazier. I know it’s a race engine and durability isn’t its purpose but I just don’t understand what’s going on. You’d think they can squeeze out more power out of these 4 cylinder liter engines while maintaining durability. What do you guys think?
And I mean more power than top of the line models coming stock with 210 HP.
Posted this on motorcycles and got banned. Fuck that sub. It’s horrible.
I understand this might come off as bait but it’s not. I genuinely want to know if you guys experience this and what you do.
Here’s the post:
I have a 2024 s1000r. I know it’s a beast and people would kill for it. However I constantly find myself wanting a better bike. A faster bike. A more expensive bike. If I had the money I’d get other ones but I don’t. And the depreciation hit I’d take selling or trading this one isn’t worth it. Does anyone experience this?
I don’t feel this way about my car, I am a car head. I don’t feel this way about my watch. I am a watch head. I don’t feel this way about my cameras, I am a camera head and so on. It is only with my bike.
“I have a 2024 BMW S1000R with about 1500 miles. I usually ride with normal shoes and haven’t had any shifting issues. Last night, I used new stiff Alpinestars boots, and I think they prevented me from shifting with conviction. A couple of times at highway speeds, I had a bad shift—either a false neutral between 3rd and 4th or 4th and 5th—and the bike revved up but sorted itself out. I didn’t hear much grinding, and the rear wheel didn’t lock up. Now, with normal shoes, it rides fine. Given this, how seriously should I take it? Is my gearbox or the gear dogs at risk, or did I just stress them a bit with a couple of poor shifts?
