The car driver should go to prison for attempted murder

Motorcycle for main mode of transportation?

Title, I'm 25, live in LA and have no license. I've been getting around on my gravel bike + burley trailer, and it's honestly not too bad, things however have changed, moms getting older and needs me to take care of her, partner, job, have to be farther distances under limited time, bike can absolutely handle these commutes, just not in time.

Now I'm unfortunately looking for something else, I'm very minimalist with my possessions, and outside of certain things only want what I need, scooter seems enough vs a car.

Currently looking at the Honda Grom and yahamma zuma, needs good gas mileage, affordable month to month, can ride in the heat and rain, and can handle high mileage and run errands like groceries, and laundry.

Kinda leaning towards 125cc, as insurance is significantly cheaper than a bigger engine, at least here in California.

Do you ride in all weathers, or just during nice weather?

This is a photo of my GSA crossing the Pyrenees in May 2022. Ever since I started riding at the tender age of 9, I have ridden whatever the weather. Living in the UK, waiting for nice weather seriously limits how often I can ride. But nice weather can also have its challenges. Two days before this photo was taken, we were rid8ng into Zaragoza and it was over 40c. Negotiating the narrow streets to get to the underground garage of our hotel was challenging, and i wished it would rain to cool things down.

When I lived in Spain, I was running Spanish Motorbike Tours and helping the Spanish linesman at the time to plot the TET, and neither of those could wait for 'ideal' weather. One January morning, a Belgium guy wanted to ride the pyrenees. It was 15c on my farm in Catalonia, by the time we got to the pyrenees, it was -2c. We had a fantastic time, dodging the ice and snow, taking it steady but enjoying the crisp air and quiet roads.

With the right tyres, the right setup and the right clothing, riding in any weather can be as enjoyable as riding 'ideal' weather.

So do you ride in any weather, and if not, why not?

I think I’m done….. for now

Picked up this 21 SFV4S about 3 weeks ago and have done a few mods to make it my own and fit my style-

New tank grips (old ones were sliding down and previous owner used some sort of super glue to reattach them - messed up the paint)
CRG bar end mirrors
TWN black fuel cap
OEM black Radiator covers
Evotech Radiator Guard
Kriega mounting adapter for SF (20L pack is what I’ll use)
Rokform handlebar phone mount

Think I’m done for now, in the future I’d love to get some black rearsets but I’m very happy with how it looks now!

Finally got my license, first bike.

I'm 39 years old, and I just got my license.

And this is my first ride on my first bike.

Thanks to driving mods this bike is very beginner friendly. In C mode the response it's just too slow, I changed to B almost immediately. But probably a good thing for anyone starting out.

Taking my son for a ride.

It's not easy driving my zzr 1200 when my son always wants to go with me.

First time using a helmet mounted camera. Is this placement a bad idea?

I bought a DJI Osmo Action 5, but the mount it included seems too big to be put right at the chin, so I 3D printed an additional arm in order to get the camera to be right in front of the chin while having the mount on the side. Now, since I have no experience at all with helmet mounted cameras I wanted to ask first before possibly messing up.

Will this hold? Is there something I'm not thinking of that makes this a bad idea? Also, I don't know how good is the glue on the base, but in the last photo you can see it seems to have no air bubbles, any space between it and the helmet or anything.

I don't know if it's relevant, but the helmet is a HJC C70N

2013 Honda CBR250R Repsol Edition, 7100 miles, $2500 US

Per the title, I have my eye on a 2013 Honda CBR250R Repsol Edition with 7100 miles on the clock. This would be my first used bike purchase. It was purchased from a well-regarded local dealership and apparently has been serviced there. I was talking to the owner's wife and she claims it has ABS and a completely clean title, and he bought it but hasn't ridden it much so he is selling. I normally want to know absolutely everything about something before I buy it, so I am making this post in a few subs looking for comments.

I know folks say "don't buy a 250, it's too small and you'll outgrow it." I already own another 250 I bought new, but I am looking for a second small displacement bike for specific reasons. (I will buy a larger sportbike next year, again, for reasons)

What I want to know is... how good a deal is this? What kinds of things should I be looking at specifically when I go see it this weekend? Obviously if she shows up and has the title in his name but he isn't around, that would be a problem. Another question -- despite it being just a little 250, would the bright orange Repsol paint job make it a cop magnet? I want to keep as low profile as possible, much as I love the way it looks.

I plan to show up with $2100 or $2200 cash in hand and if it looks good I will offer that immediately. If he turns me down I will probably go to an ATM and get the other $300.

My first MV Agusta, here’s my new to me 2003 MV Agusta F4 750S!

Recently picked up this F4 about 2 weeks ago after selling a Ducati 996 that was in kinda rough shape to a mechanic friend of mine. Absolutely loved that bike but it left me stranded 3 times within a year, was in and out of the shop constantly that entire time, never ran for more than 3 weeks at a time without an issue, and had to be trailered to the shop many times when it broke down. When I saw this F4 for sale, I had always wanted one and initially I was gonna pass on like so many others before but after our mechanic offered to buy my 996 off me so I could go and buy this I couldn’t resist a look. I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would seeing it in person so now I’ve ended up with dream bike number 2. Still needs some work from maintenance neglect and other minor issues but it’s been a wonderful bike so far and it’s so much fun to ride! Eventually I think I’ll pick up another 996 but so far I’m extremely pleased with the F4 and I’ll definitely be taking it to the track next year. Hopefully I can keep this one for a long time and I plan on riding it a lot and taking it on many adventures!

Engine shuts off when riding/downshifting and doesn’t start back up.

I’m a new rider. Took the msf course just last month. I’m having an issue where when I’m riding and I start to down shift to 1st, at a stop light for example, my bike will shut off and won’t start back up. This has happened a couple times on the road and a few times at home when test riding. I’m riding a little 125cc for now just to learn the basics and it’s carbureted. I’ve tuned it perfectly so it idles about 1.7k rpms. I’ve had a couple people look at my bike and they always have to push the bike hard to get it started. Idk if I’m doing something wrong or downshifting wrong but any insight helps. Thank You.

Little line on fork slide

Hi,

I have a little line on my 4000km caballero 700. The dust seals were greasy straight from the factory, and I think that attracted dirt, which might have marked the fork tube. I can feel it very slightly when I run my fingernail over it. A bit more if I press down, but it’s still really subtle—it doesn't catch. I consulted my suspension specialist, and he told me it wasn't a serious issue. You might want to do a light polish when the oil seals need replacing, but there's no need to worry. There’s no conflict of interest, so I trust his judgment. What’s your take on this ?

Wife and I just picked up our first Goldwing

We used to ride 2 up on my 95 Shadow 1100 until it was stolen recently, but she always complained about the seat being uncomfortable for her anyway. We found this bike, it hadn't run in a few years but was all complete and in otherwise decent shape, so we pulled the trigger. Of course right after we got it, the police located my Shadow, so now I'm getting that back up and running to get it sold as well as bringing the Goldwing back to life.

Anyway, we are now the proud owners of a 1982 Goldwing Interstate. Carb rebuild kit is in the mail, I did get it running on carb cleaner and a full can of Berrymans B12 in the tank. Carbs will be coming off later today, and once it is running on its own we will be tackling the timing belts and other maintenance items.

500 km Solo Ride to Munnar & Vagamon on My Dad’s 17-Year-Old Splendor

Did a 3D2N 500 Round trip from Madurai - Theni - Bodinayakanur - Poppara - Devikulam - Munnar - Anachal - Adimali - Kattapana - Elappara - Vagamon - Kattapana - Cumbumettu - Theni - Madurai

No Speed, just 40-50 Cruising in Highway and Ghat roads, Good Cornering in Gap road, Splendor did well on both offroad and ghat roads.

Stayed Munnar at Hope Hostels, thx to Hope Hostels Munnar, A 5 out of 5 experience in comfort, location, peoples there, and food. It was almost 12hrs of raining when I checked in.

Chosen Monkey Tribe Vagamon, location is just🤌🏻❤️, Zero Visibility evening, met awesome Zostelers also.

Food from Monkey Tribe Vagamon is not worth that for price, with me some fellow Zostelers ordered Chapatti and 4 Egg gravy, waiting time is very unacceptable and ordered Zostelers got angry for starving and they got not fully boiled egg, so they complained the manager and ended up with messy night. 1 star out of 5 experience with food at Monkey Tribe Vagamon.

If you have any questions just comment below, I'll be happy to answer😃

Edit: Fricking 500+ Upvotes, didn't expect this🥶, thx to all fellow travellers
