Gemma Hayter has posted this today about an unnamed darts writer/page who she says began posting unflattering things about her after she declined to promote his website.

She says she found his subsequent behaviour “harassing and inappropriate”, that he continued messaging her and attacked her sponsors, before she eventually blocked him. She doesn’t name him, but the replies seem to give a fairly obvious clue.

Someone mentions the reporter who asked Jonny Clayton whether Hulk Hogan’s death had affected his performance, and Gemma replies discussing the same person’s writing. Looking that up, the reporter who asked the Hogan question actually wrote himself at the time: “Finally, I asked whether wrestling superstar, Hulk Hogan’s demise today had disrupted his preparation.”

The website he now writes for has also made a few pretty pointed references to Gemma. An article from 4 July talks about being “slammed on social media by Gemma” and tells her to “feel free to share this one if you fancy it!” Then, coincidentally or otherwise, an article published today has a whole section about Gemma titled “HAYTER GONNA HATE”, including a joke about her spending the evening “scrolling through Facebook looking for someone to disagree with.”

Obviously Gemma hasn’t named anyone herself, so I’m not saying this definitively confirms who she’s talking about, but between her replies and what’s been written on the site, I can see why people have made the connection.
