What Are Your Thoughts On The SA Cup Regular Season

Griquas built a formidable team with limited resourced over time, intelligent scouting, player development and giving a platform for players on the fringes of "Bigger" squads while also recruiting stars from "Smaller" unions, for example recruiting Gershwin Wehr from The Griffons, only reason Griquas didn't go undefeated in the regular season is cause they choose to play a rotated team vs Cheetahs in Bloem in their final fixture this past Friday ahead of the 4 team play offs.

Pumas were the bench mark and still do all of the above at a high level, just slightly behind Griquas at this stage dispite the large gap on the log.

Cheetahs, finished ahead of Boland and SWD, but theirs really not that much between them.

Cheetahs have regressed and need to refocus having almost not qualified for the Currie Cup Premier Division via the SA Cup. Although I think they may have a shot in their semi final vs Mpumalanga Pumas at Mbombela Stadium.

And Boland still a solid team, though its interesting that they did not seem to have many of their players that shone for them in last season Currie Cup Premier Division.

SWD Eagles showed real upward progress after recent significant investment though they didn't end that far ahead of the Valke.

Credit to the Valke they did better than I had expected they would.

EP Elephants, Griffons, Leopards and Border Bull dogs.

U23 Team for this week

Interesting that we have not seen Cam Dawson in the senior team since he signed permanently for the sharks permanently
