Help!! How do I stick with it?

How do I stick with calorie counting? I have had the Lose It app since around 2013, I have yet to stick to it for more than 10 days at a time. I start, I reset, rinse and repeat about 50 times over the years.

I do not have a ton of weight to lose, maybe around 15-20 lbs but it’s slowly creeping up as I get older. I work out each day usually 2 times a day ( morning and lunch break) and have stuck to that for over 10 years. So I can be consistent, but no matter what I can’t seem to stick with calorie counting.

This is what happens:

Days1-5 I do great, well within my calories.
Days 6-7 I start going over slightly each day and getting upset I can’t stay within my calories.
Days 8-10 I still log but each day I go over more and more and start to binge, then I say screw it!

It seems like I want what I can’t have and when I count calories I tell myself I can’t have things, even though I know I CAN have all the things, just in moderation, but my brain somehow thinks I’ll never have it again and then I’ll binge on it and tell myself that’s the last of it and the last time I’ll do it.

Sorry for such a long post, I’m just so frustrated with myself.
