What are these on the top of my basement freezer?
My mom and brother found a bunch of these on the freezer yesterday and wiped them off. I found these today. At first I was like "roach droppings?" But then I took this closeup pic and they look like a bunch of dead bugs. But I can't tell what kind of bug, or why there'd randomly be 50 dead ones on top of the freezer. There is a sink to the left of this freezer and a washer/dryer to the left of the sink. I found a bug in the washer the other day, couldn't tell what it was. I looked up pictures of roaches while looking into this cause I don't quite remember what they look like and the legs and color of the german roach looked familiar to the legs I saw on that bug in the wash that day, but I'm not sure. I wish I had snapped a pic, it didn't seem particularly roachy to me at the time but I haven't looked at that many roach pics till now. My mental image of the roach has always been the American one, with the thick dark shell. I don't recall the bug I got out of the wash having much of a shell. Some of these in the pic seem to have a lot of legs making me think spider, there's a dead spider or two on the floor near that freezer. But what do you think these are?
I also included a picture of the area on the ceiling above the freezer. Anything of interest here? Maybe that gray bit in that slot is an egg sac? Not sure what I'm looking at here. I want to wipe this whole thing down but I wanna make sure Ive got all the evidence I can get first.
