shoes

recently got a job in store. got told “dark shoes”, does this mean all black or just mostly black?

I have this literally neon orange hoodie (left) and I want to dye it to be a paler color and not as bright (right). Is there any way I could get it to be closer to the color on the right? Or is that an over-time thing? It’s 50% cotton, 50% polyester.
