It is finally completely. Update on my brainchild.

So I can grow chillies in kratky with flowing water (not sure if this has a specific name) efficiently and more comfortably, I chose Floplast black square guttering, big box as reservoir with a lid which has a filling nozzle, a lot of DIY, 3D print designing and printing, wooden frame, all custom made to fit.

I added a Sonoff water leak detector (attached magnets for easy removal for battery change) which tells me when I have to add 2L of new water with nutrients.

The guttering has a little stop, so the lower roots sit in water while there is still waterflow and the plants can make air roots. Right now they're all still small but once they grow, they will be held in place with pool noodle since I found that most convenient.

Pump and lights are adjustable and monitored and controlled through home assistant. Same with water temperature.

I am so proud and so happy.

Thank you all for the comments and suggestions in my last post!

Edit: The typo in the title I made makes me laugh xD I can't edit titles, can I?

My beautiful brainchild.

After starting with Idoo, which is (obviously) way too small for what I want to grow, and after I had to reset my 12 beautiful chilli plants because of Thrips, I needed something bigger than my windowsill solution (shown in last picture) for my new seedlings to thrive in.

I wanted to create a system to grow my chillies in that somewhat combines Kratky with water circulation and just one reservoir that needs topping up, so I made this with the things I had at hand, some 3D prints and some parts for guttering.

I'm very proud of my beautiful abomination and wanted to finally show it off to you all, so very exciting!

Before you ask: I work successfully with pool noodle. I monitor water temperature and level and soon humidity as well, lights and pump run and are monitored through home assistant and it would notify me once water level needs topping up and if temps are getting too high.

If you want, let me know what you think!
