Small ASA outdoor fix printed on my Bambu P1S

One of those small practical prints that actually solves an annoying everyday problem.

The loose valance on my outdoor roller blind kept moving with the wind and sometimes triggered my security camera.

I designed a small stopper that slides into the aluminum extrusion at the end of the blind and drops down vertically to hold the valance in place.

Printed on my Bambu P1S in white ASA, since the part will stay outside exposed to sun and weather.

This first piece is installed on one side, but I’ll probably print a few more for the central sections too, to keep the whole valance more stable along its length.

Nothing fancy, but it works — and that’s exactly why I love having a 3D printer.

Can visible countdown seconds change how we perceive a goal?

I’ve been testing a small home screen countdown widget I built, and I’m curious about the behaviour side of it.

The idea is simple: instead of hiding a timer inside an app, the countdown stays visible on the home screen and shows the remaining time down to the seconds.

At first I thought about basic use cases like gym recovery, cooking or focus sessions, but I’m starting to think it may be useful for more psychological goals too:

  • intermittent fasting
  • phone detox
  • focus blocks
  • meditation
  • daily challenges
  • deadlines
  • waiting before checking notifications
  • staying committed to a time window

I’m not claiming visible seconds magically improve discipline.

But I wonder whether making time constantly visible changes how people perceive a goal.

Would this help you stay focused, or would it make the countdown feel more stressful?

What would you use something like this for?
