Should I stop using Samsung password manager?

So I’ve been using Samsung Password Manager (Samsung Pass app) for as long as I can remember, but lately I’ve started to question whether I should move to a third-party option instead, mostly due to its lack of cross-platform support and some everyday usability issues.

From a security and convenience standpoint, Samsung Pass isn’t necessarily unsafe. The Samsung Pass app works well on Samsung devices, with biometric login and Knox-based security, so for basic everyday use it’s easy to rely on. At the same time, it doesn’t feel very flexible when it comes to moving your data. Exporting or switching away isn’t as straightforward, which makes it feel like you’re a bit locked in compared to a dedicated password manager.

That said, the bigger issue for me is how limited it feels in practice. Samsung Pass mainly works inside Samsung’s ecosystem, which doesn’t match how I actually use my devices - I switch between a phone, PC, different browsers, and other platforms. Because of that, not having smooth access to my passwords everywhere becomes frustrating, and it starts to feel restrictive rather than helpful for a password manager.

On top of that, there are smaller but still noticeable issues, like autofill not always working properly or difficulty accessing saved data outside certain apps. Over time, these add up and make Samsung Pass feel more like a built-in convenience feature than a complete password manager solution. When I compare that to paid password manager options that offer proper cross-platform support and more control, the Samsung Pass app starts to feel like a compromise rather than something I can rely on long-term.

So at this point, I’m leaning toward switching to a different password manager, but I’m still unsure if it’s really worth it or which direction to go.

I’ve been comparing a few options using a table I found on Reddit, but I’d be interested to hear what others are using - what you like, what you don’t, and whether switching was actually worth it.

Created my first app - but no clue how to market it. Anyone out there who could give advice?

Me and a friend of mine just developed our first B2C app. It is free, but we could get affiliate comissions. Now we want to spread the word, but are a bit clueless what is a good (and better free/cheap) channel or way to market thr app.

What are you guys doing to get users on board? Are there any good hacks or is it either paid ads or struggling the way through content creation and community building on social media?

What text editor do you use on Android?

I'm looking for an app that can edit .txt files. Should also have a Search feature

I once tried Obsidian but quickly realized that it couldn't open .txt files

Lately I feel like app stores are great at showing me popular software, but terrible at helping me discover things.

Rankings and recommendations all seem to push the same names over and over, especially on Android and Windows. If you’re looking for something small, niche, or just different, it feels like you already need to know it exists.

I’ve started browsing more catalog‑style sites instead of relying purely on store search. One I came across recently is https://unstore.io, which feels more like a directory than an app store: categories, direct downloads, minimal recommendation logic.

Not saying it’s perfect or a replacement for Google Play / Microsoft Store, but it made me realize how much discovery is shaped by algorithms now.

Curious how others handle this. Do you mostly rely on store search? Reddit threads? Blogs? GitHub? Random links?

Would love to hear how you find new or useful apps outside the usual channels.

I'm looking for simple location reminder apps

Do people actually use location reminder apps regularly?

I’ve tried a few and most of them feel weirdly complicated for something that should be simple.

For example, I need to enter so many details like trigger radius, entry vs. exit, geofencing behavior, etc. just to get it to work. And most of the time it doesn't really work! The reminders are either too late or too early.

I just want to type:
“buy milk near a grocery store”
and have it remind me at the right time without me configuring a bunch of stuff.

What are you all using these days?

Adobe Acrobat or WPS Office PDF for free document signing

Need a reliable PDF signing solution on Android and have narrowed it down to WPS Office PDF and Adobe Acrobat as the two most recommended options. Free is the hard requirement since I'm not paying a subscription just to sign documents.
I need to be able to open a PDF, place a signature, and send it back looking professional on the recipient's end without any visible quality issues or compatibility problems when they open it in whatever PDF application they're using. Also performance on Android is key.

Most accurate weather app that also had great widgets and UI?

I find google weather to be off at my location as well as Samsung's weather "app" which i can't stand because if you tap anywhere it takes you to the weather.com website. Nobody asked for that. I need your advice for an accurate weather app thats actually an app and not a web portal

best apps for lonely/bored old person who's REALLY bad with technology?

My Granddad's partner recently went into a home and he's bought himself an Android tablet to try and keep busy. The trouble is he is REALLY REALLY bad with technology, like he can't work out how to send a text on his phone a lot of the time. Like he always gets confused with where to tap to type? He's got a little bit better recently but that's the level we're at.

I'm seeing him tomorrow to help him set it up (he can't connect it to his wifi on his own) and I'm wondering if there are any very easy apps that he could use? Like crossword games and such? Maybe jigsaw puzzle ones? Any other suggestions would be great too!

TIA

Looking for a springboard style launcher for Android

So, I switched from Xiaomi to Pixel 8 months ago but still unable to get used to the App Drawer. I mean, it's cool but looks like a learning curve to me.

So, I was looking for a springboard style launcher (basically Ios Launcher without App Drawer), where all apps are in the main screen and accessible just by sliding.

I searched for launchers for 3 months. I'm not a fan of Ios Launchers filled with ads and bloat. I even tried Bliss Launcher but that simply doesn't install. Smart Launcher and Nova Launcher didn't even get close to what I wanted. So, please give your recommendations. I'm okay with closed-source ones but they should be usable, unlike filled with ads.

TLDR: Suggest me a nice Classic style launcher, like Classic Mode in Vivo and Xiaomi.

Edit: I couldn't find the perfect launcher but Hios Launcher seems to work for me. It needs some customisation to imitate Xiaomi Launcher but it works

Looking for less graphic intensive/lesser known games

I'm looking for android games that are mainly 2D that isnt graphically intensive. It could be arcade style games or gachas. Anything that is less known.

I recently started reusing an old fire 7 tablet I have and I wanted to install some games on it that I could play occasionally. It can handle a game like Touhou LostWord which is what I used to use it for but now I just want to use the tablet to play other games. Im mainly using the tablet for reading but I wanted to have some games on the side to play.

Important

I need a mix of apps that are not tied to, or specifically designed for, a particular phone brand, so they can be used on any phone. This way, I can keep the same user experience even when I change my phone.

What app mix do you currently use, or what suggestions would you add to this app mix?

Need a good File Explorer/Manager that has a modern UI

Im currently using DV File Explorer that I do like but I can't help but wonder if there's one that's just better. A lot of them basically look the same and not really different from each other. I'm not rooted but I do have Shizuku if it's relevant. Im not really sure if File Managers can be different from others. I've just rocked DV for so long I never bothered trying something else.

Features I'm looking for... Modern UI if possible, one that doesn't look like it was built on Android Kit-kat Some king of customization/organization. I want to be able to get into certain folders fast. Download, Movie and pictures especially.

Im not needing extra stuff but it's a bonus I guess.
