What reminder app you're using?

I'm looking for one that's just a simple: make task, set time, forget about it until it blares a loud ass alarm in my face. No need for fancy features like tracking and shit.

I was using Samsung Reminders until it gets updated and put an unremovable 'Try These' section that's annoying

[PC] Any more modern-ish Command & Conquer style RTS?

I just played Command & Conquer 4 and it disgusts me, I need to cleanse my palate, but I have also played all the campaigns and skirmish of previous C&C (not much for multiplayer)

is there anything with similar stuff but more new-ish?

some consideration:

1 - I'm playing more the campaign & skirmish (player vs COM), not multiplayer, so maybe a game that has those two features at least

2 - "C&C Style" RTS, like focused on military, no need for economic or non-military micromanagement

some examples of what I've played:

  • Rise of Nations

  • Empire Earth I-III

  • Age of Empires

  • Cossacks 1-3

  • StarCraft series

  • WarCraft series

some examples of what I've played but not what I'm looking for:

  • Stronghold series (features too much of economics micromanagement)

  • Anno series (a lot more focus on city building rather than military)

  • Total War (only army control, no base building)

3 - I don't care about the era, it can be sci-fi, fantasy, medieval, etc.

App list make Play Store hang and stopped responding?

Device

Samsung Galaxy S25 (Base) SM-S931B

Android version: 16 (OneUI 8.5)

Security patch level: 5 June 2026

it is a second-hand phone, but it's already factory reset

What happened

So as usual, when I got a new phone (this one is secondhand though), I factory reset and login and everything. After that I check my list of previous apps

Play Store > Profile picture > Manage apps and device > Manage tab > Filter: Not installed

which I will scroll down slowly, install what I need and maybe see some others that no longer supported or I don't use anymore so I can select & remove them

Problem: the section is very buggy, I can't use it for like longer than 15-30 seconds before it stops responding and crash with "Play Store has stopped" message. I haven't even reach apps starting with letter B (sorted by name alphabetically)

Troubleshooting

  • I have tried in other device, I have my old phone Samsung A55, same problem

  • Internet connection is good, no other section in Play Store has problem

  • Time & Date is correct

  • Phone restarted

  • Phone is on latest update

  • Cache clear

  • Data clear

  • Log out & log back in

all not solution, problem persist.

Conclusion

I think the problem might be on Play Store side, but I'd like to be proven wrong and will look for more possible solutions.

[RecommendMe] Something where the MC is more like a mastermind rather than the strongest character (though they're not completely helpless either)

some examples:

  • Greatest Estate Developer, while Lloyd is the brain, Javier is definitely the overpowered brawn.

  • Tyrant of a Defense Game, MC knows how to utilize his party members rather than fighting himself

  • Raising Villains The Right Way, hilariously this one is accidental, the super powerful characters simply misinterpret MC's messages and accidentally make MC rise up in position and power.

How to easily combine two data and have full list rather than copying them one by one?

example:

I have two data set

Data 1:

Data Value
AAA 1
BBB 2
CCC 3
DDD 4
EEE 5

Data 2:

SUF FIX
P 12
Q 24
X 12

the numbers are not important

I want something like this

Foo Bar
AAA-P Bar
AAA-Q text
AAA-X text
BBB-P text
BBB-Q text
BBB-X text
CCC-P text
CCC-Q text
CCC-X text

and so on so forth to EEE-X

obviously got more data so I can't exactly do this manually

any good idea?

What are some apps you think is very well-designed, no matter the function or price (paid, free, doesn't matter)?

What prompted this question: I randomly stumbled upon a dev page with collection of apps that I think very nicely designed, but unfortunately iOS exclusive.

the dev is the !Boring Software (Not Boring Software)

here's some of their products:

https://notbor.ing/product/camera

https://notbor.ing/product/calculator

https://notbor.ing/product/timer

https://notbor.ing/product/weather

I wonder if there are any apps with similarly polished design (not similar in design style) on Android (doesn't even have to be Android-exclusive even). Quick disclaimer: I know that some of them aren't really your taste or want more pragmatic approach to apps with no regards to UI, and I appreciate that too (I even use a lot of apps that aren't quite well-designed but have myriad of features I use everyday), but here I am asking the app that you think is nicely designed (subjectively, not objectively) despite not having that much features as well.

Games, apps, whatever.

here's some of mine:

PowerAMP - Local music player. Not conforming to Material Design, has its own design language which I think looks really nice and managed to stand out among other local music player with too many similar designs. Support skins as well.

Snapseed - Image editor. Recently got updated, and while the previous design was okay, I kinda dig this new one. Weird that it's by Google but it doesn't follow material design as well, instead it utilize the neobrutalist style.

Dustland Design - Game dev. They develop simple games (sudoku, minesweeper, and solitaire) wrapped in a very nice, simple, and clean design. Lacking features? yes, nice to look at? also yes.

For some reason I got recommended a lot of videos about secrets and stuffs from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997). I've played the game multiple times but there are a lot that I didn't know about the game apparently lol. Including spells, I have no idea the game has spells and I've finished it like thrice.

any more with the similar attention to details and crazy amount of secrets?

what I've played:

  • SotN successors like Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow, Order of Ecclesia, etc.

  • Hollow Knight & Hollow Knight: Silksong

  • Blasphemous & Blasphemous II

  • Salt and Sanctuary & Salt and Sacrifice

  • Dead Cells

  • Nine Sols

  • Bloodstained

  • Shovel Knight

  • The Messenger

  • Ori and the ______ series

I just recently tried Dragon Quest III 2D-HD remaster, and the one thing that really turned me off is the first person perspective on combat, however I like how dead simple the mechanics and features are in Dragon Quest series.

Here's some of what I've played that might give some ideas:

  • Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

  • Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

  • Final Fantasy I - XII (just to show that I don't really care about the pixel graphics, and yes I know XII's combat is more MMORPG-like... maybe I should stop at X instead).

  • Chrono Trigger

  • Chrono Cross (the combat is way more complicated than I initially thought)

  • Persona series

  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon

  • Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

  • Sea of Stars
