Climbing the ranked ladder IS worth it

Climbing the ranked ladder IS worth it

Every day on r/leagueoflegends you can find hundereds of comments telling you that the ranked ladder is trash from top to bottom, there's toxic inters and trolls in every Elo, and everyone below challenger is hardstuck idiots.

Well I'm here to tell you that is simply not true. I myself was hardstuck gold/plat from S3-S2025, and recently made the climb to Diamond. https://op.gg/lol/summoners/na/Humility-LOTUS And let me tell you the games are completely different.

Now that I've reached this Elo, people actually know the basics of what their job is, and at least attempt to execute it. People make plans and decisions based on wavestate, objectives, or which side is the weak side of the map. Yes, sometimes these plans suck, or sometimes the execution fails miserably. But at least people are thinking. No one is pressing their buttons at random.

Are there trolls? yes. Do people throw temper tantrums in chat? yes. But that's just the community we are in unfortuantely

So there are many reasons to climb the ladder that are stupid

- a shinier border

- "to escape the trolls"

- because your self worth is based on your score in a video game

But if you're climbing to find better game quality with teammates who know at least the basics of the game - the climb is totally worth it. The game is simply more fun.

Good luck on the rift!
