Filter cartridges restricting flow
hello, new pool owner here. I just had my fiberglass pool finished, first day of use. My equipment is all Jandy - vsp, cartridge filter, jxi heater, salt cell. A week ago my pool was full of construction dust from the builder cutting interlocking. When everything was done and they came to clean to pool, they first attempted to use the pool vac for cleanup. They didn’t get very far as it was filthy, and came back the next day and pumped to waste. After several more days of filtering the water, it is now finally clear and pool is operational. The only problem I’m having is that the filter now seems to restrict flow after 24 hours of use. The pressure from the returns becomes noticeably low, and the heater starts throwing the check flow error. I clean the filter and everything is perfect for a day and then flow restricts again. When I clean the cartridges, they don’t seem to come completely clean either. They don’t turn white like new, just sort of stay grey/brown. I’ve been through this process 3-4 times now. I’m wondering if the fine dust from construction just permanently clogged up the cartridges? Should I just get new ones? Do I need to use a cleaning bath?
