The last we heard from these good-for-nothings

I made peace a long time ago with the fact that Part 2 has plotlines that lead nowhere, but this is unforgivable; for me, the Devil Hunter Club members are the worst characters in Part 2.

The only salvageable one among them is the president (I can't remember his name), but his development stops halfway through and goes nowhere, and I don't even want to remember the other two.

I don't know what Fujimoto was trying to do with these guys, but I feel he could have at least given them an interesting backstory or motivation, like the immortal brothers. Even though you could remove them from the International Assassins arc and nothing would change, at least they are interesting to watch.

Supposing Asa wants to, do you guys think Yoru would allow Asa to fuck Denji?

Throughout all of Part 2, Yoru was always the dominant one among the three, but would she agree to give control over to Asa so that the latter can spend some time with Denji?

Personally, I think it depends on Yoru's mood. Throughout Part 2, Yoru has always referred to herself as 'Asa's second personality,' so I don't think she would mind Denji hanging out with Asa.

I MISS THIS SO MUCH

It was genuinely hilarious how Yoru refused to turn Denji into a weapon, even though that was the ""only"" purpose of their interaction in the first place

I don't like the idea that "Denji let go of the chainsaw because he preferred to save Asa"

Remember when I saw this scene from the final chapter, that was my first thought and it made me so angry (yeah, at the time I hated the final chapter with all my soul, and this didn't help much).

The reason for this frustration is that the central point of ALL of Part 2 is that Denji could never choose between being Chainsaw Man and the normal life he wanted so much. Even when he apparently chose to save Asa from Yoru, it turned out that wasn't the case, precisely because Denji's inability to choose a side is a constant. And having Denji pick a side in the LAST chapter made my blood boil because I thought Fujimoto just pulled it out of nowhere. But now that I've calmed down, I realized that's not what Fujimoto meant.

Before consuming himself, Pochita talks to Denji and tells him that despite getting everything he ever wanted (a family, going to school, or connecting with a girl), he was never satisfied. In short, Pochita tells Denji that he will never be satisfied with anything because of his mindset. That's why he devours himself—because by doing so, he is giving Denji another chance to improve and become someone else.

And in the end, Pochita was right; the new Denji we see is no longer obsessed with his dreams. This Denji is much more complacent, and we can see this when we look at his expression of satisfaction upon seeing Asa play football. The old Denji would have lamented not being able to ask out the girl he had just saved because something else distracted her, but this Denji isn't like that. This Denji, upon seeing that the girl who was supposedly in danger was actually never in any real trouble, can only let out a slight smile and goes on with his day.

By leaving us with that chainsaw scene, Fujimoto wants to tell us that this Denji is no longer the same, because the Denji we knew was never going to give up being Chainsaw Man of his own free will (we just need to remember what happened to Nayuta). Precisely because the 'chainsaw' no longer means anything to this Denji, he is able to move forward; otherwise, he would still be stuck in the self-destructive cycle we saw throughout all of Part 2.

What's your opinion on people cosplaying from shows they've never seen?

Personally, I think that if you are going to do a cosplay, the bare minimum is to have consumed the media beforehand, whether it's comics/manga or a series, even if it's just a little bit. It's not serious to do it if you don't even know the name of the character you are cosplaying

Was anyone else surprised by Nayuta's change in part 2?

I'm serious, I didn't see it coming. In Part 1, Nayuta looked about 7 years old and could barely talk, and out of nowhere, in Part 2, she shows up with almost completely opposite vibes. Not only does she look physically older than she should have grown in a 2-year span, but on top of that, her behavior turned into that of a spoiled brat who won't take no for an answer.
I really thought the Nayuta we'd see in Part 2 would be colder and more calculating, but it was a pleasant surprise to see that she behaves more like Power than a calmer Makima

Not gonna lie, when I saw this scene I thought Yoru was gonna lick it

Before anyone says anything, nobody expected Yoru to handjob Denji, so when the episode started with a shot of Yoru 'playing' with his semen, I just expected the worst. I was like, 'Now that this girl knows what it's like to be horny, she's gonna finish what she started'.

Sometimes when I want to get angry at Denji's stupidities, I remember this page and I don't feel like hating him

The guy was broken long before Nayuta died, so when he lost her, all he had left was being Chainsaw Man and his most basic desires. When I read that scene, I could only feel sorry for him.

I really love chapter 229

I’m serious, this is the best chapter of Part 2. Yoru is on the ground laughing as Denji approaches to supposedly devour her, while Asa questions why she stopped when she saw the bird, only for us to get the deepest monologue we’ve had in a long time. Yoru tells her the story of the bird and how foolish she found it that the bird felt guilty for something completely natural—just trying to stay alive. She then tells Asa that despite trying to understand her regrets, she never could. This didn’t happen because Yoru is incapable of understanding human emotions, but because nothing that happened to Asa was her fault. Not her father’s death, not her mother’s death, not even the fact that Yoru condemned the world to eternal suffering. Drawing parallels to the bird, Asa only allowed Yoru to possess her body out of sheer survival. That’s why Yoru ends up pitying Asa; because if only she had lived without that unnecessary guilt, she would have been able to move forward toward the life she wanted so much.

While writing this, I couldn't hold back my tears. I genuinely cried, and you have no idea how much I wish Asa and Yoru had maintained this kind of relationship throughout all of Part 2.
