the sticker struggle: water bottles are the final boss 😩💦

the sticker struggle: water bottles are the final boss 😩💦

trying to find the perfect balance between waterproof and flexible is impossible. i used to laminate everything to make them thick and sturdy, but they just peel right off curved matte water bottles after a week.

i've been trying out raw matte vinyl sheets lately because they lay completely flat on curved surfaces and the ink doesn't smudge at all even when wet, but i'm still paranoid.

do u guys always use laminate sheets or do u trust your vinyl to hold up on its own? what's the secret for water bottles?

does anyone else have to manifest a successful print or is your printer normal? 😭

i swear my printer can smell my fear. if i load more than two sheets of matte vinyl at a time, it panics and jaws.

my current "ritual" is literally standing over the machine and feeding one single sheet at a time like a baby. ngl it actually works and saves my paper from curling or jamming, but i feel ridiculous doing it.

please tell me i'm not the only one who has to babysit their printer like this?? what is your weird ritual to stop the jams?

ever notice how paper turns into a scroll the second it rains? 😭

i just learned that paper curls because the vinyl layer and the liner (the part you throw away) absorb humidity at different rates. apparently, 50% relative humidity is the "sweet spot," but my office is nowhere near that. i’ve been trying to keep mine in the original plastic packaging and a cardboard box just to keep them flat. how do u guys store your paper stash to stop the curl? do u use airtight bins or just hope for the best?

PSA: Joyeza matte paper chipping and leaving black dust? 😭

Has anyone else had this issue with Joyeza matte vinyl (https://a.co/d/09Ezzdrc)?

I was cutting some darker designs today and the topcoat literally crumbled. Those black dots on my fingers in the pic are bits of the sticker chipping off around the cut lines. It also feels super thin, almost like copy paper, and the laminate I tried using just peeled right off and took the ink with it.

Is this just a bad batch or is it always this flimsy? I'm trying to find a matte brand that won't "shatter" under the blade or make a mess. Help lol.
