Looking for a Summer 2026 Course? Seats still open for online Intro to WGS Class (Course #4196)!

Hi, everyone:

My name is Stephanie Bonvissuto and I am an adjunct asst. prof. for the Dept og Women's and Gender Studies at Hunter College. If you are looking for a last-minute summer course, there are still a few seats open for my Introduction to WGS class, a 7-week course meeting online every Tuesday and Thursday from 11 am – 2:00 pm (with a mid-class break), running from 5/28 – 7/22.

From the syllabus:

 “Course Description:

This course introduces the student to a survey of theoretical frameworks, historical contexts, and current debates that describe the dynamic field of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Our academic explorations will follow various feminist movements and their impacts on local, national, and transnational scales. To that end, this interdisciplinary class will draw from a number of different resources, including but not limited to feminist, trans, and queer scholarship, peer-reviewed research, scientific findings, historical/biographical sources, as well as film and documentaries. We will engage with these materials through processes that align with stated course goals and learning objectives to best enable the student with the skills necessary to participate in relevant academic, professional, and community engagements.”

Only 1 book needed, Angela Davis' Women Race Class; all other readings provided.

If you or someone you know can benefit from such a course, enroll now (WGS 10000-10/4196)! And let me know what class-related questions you may have!
