Bonjour à tous, je me sépare à contre-coeur de ma voiture achetée en début d'année après des mois de galères.. Véhicule livré avec des défauts mécaniques, j'apprends par la suite que c'est courant sur ces véhicules à ce kilométrage (~100k , embrayage et allumage HS).. Je vais faire simple : cette voiture était un coup de cœur une véritable pépite grand luxe de l'intérieur mais l' expérience avec le sav de la marque m'a dégouté, je n'irai donc pas chez Kia / Hyundai pour mon besoin actuel..

Je cherche donc des conseils pour la remplacer, mais j'ai des critères d'acceptance qui réduisent drastiquement mes choix.

Au niveau du tarif <22/23 000€ max.

Niveau format : Hatchback/Mini-break comme elle, très important : Longueur max 4.40m, je veux pouvoir la garer dans mon box. Pas de SUVs, ou autres 'moyens de transport'.

Niveau mécanique : Essence, je viens du 4 cylindres 140cv avec chaîne, j'ai la phobie des 3cylindres sous-dim turbo comprechiotte... 120/140ch me paraît être un minimum pour ce gabarit.

Cette voiture me servira à sortir de la ville pour les grands trajets, l'idée d'un VE me tatait, mais j'hésite à attendre pour acheter les futurs modèles bien plus intéressants niveau autonomie.. J'y connais rien et niveau esthétique à part la Model 3...

D'ailleurs j'ai abandonné l'idée de fit mes goûts esthétiques : Mon choix se portait sur elle ou sur la 308 de 2024. Des voitures 'félines'. A ma connaissance je n'ai jamais vu aussi réussi ailleurs.

Enfin, niveau marques j'ai déjà éliminé d'office :

Les françaises (n'aimant que peugeot, et connaissant leur passé niveau SAV, je ne suis pas à l'aise)

Toyota (Trop cher, dimensions/habitabilité pas terrible).

Fiat

Ford (Ecobouses).

Les marques / modèles qui ont retenus mon attention :

Skoda (Fabia combi)

Seat (Leon)

Audi (A3, mais je pense que c'est pas un bon rapport qualité prix, trop prolo pour assumer en cas de problèmes)

Auriez-vous d'autres modèles, ainsi que des motorisations à me conseiller? En boîte auto serait un plus, si la fiabilité le permet (pas comme cette DCT7 de mort), mais je m'en fou un peu si ça permet d'économiser des frais.

Yes, another thread, but I'm really worried about the future of what made me (us?) choose this IDE.

One of the worst things that have happened to these IDEs is simplifying things to an extent where it just becomes less productive.

To facilitate dev integration, my project switched to devcontainers, and this is where the pain comes in. If I want full integration with devcontainers, I'm forced to use that horrible UI.

At the time (2013), I fell in love with IJ for its all-in-one view, the arrangement was flexible, and you could have what you wanted in EVERY corner, with a simple 20 to 50px border around your current work.

Now? I'm stuck with a dumbed-down view and icons that sometimes don't mean a thing.

Even regarding margin design, why on earth would I need spacing and rounded corners between my different views?

Base colors are not well chosen: I prefer to have grey for everything that's not my current code. It was like that for decades, but now the default pattern is less clear and I have to customize this aspect myself.

Also, at the time, they implemented a unique way of managing changes: The Shelf. It was way more convenient than git...

Years have passed, and the good ol' commit tool window was replaced by the non-modal one.

You can still use the shelf, but the design has been bad for years, so people forgot what that feature was, and I feel bad for those who don't know how powerful it is. Hopefully, you can still enable the 'old fashioned way', but to me, this is also a dumbed-down 'new way' of using git.

Like, who on earth would like the VS Code approach of managing files with Git, seriously?

I think we really need to have two approaches for the UI, not just "keeping an outdated UI version for previous clients". I'm worried that this classic UI will not be part of the IDE sooner or later, and I would like to know if other users are worried about that too?

I know that people are often resistant to change, but I still find after all these years that this UI shift is a step backward for power users.

I tried to 'convert', but it's just not convenient at all.

So, I would propose that both views should be considered equally important. Even if the designers feel the new layout is the right path forward, power users rely heavily on the density and flexibility of the classic workflow.

Edit : I really appreciate the fact that this topic is still relevant after so many years, it proves that there is still a division on this subject, and in my opinion it should always be brought to propose a new solution, I had thought of presenting this as a new mode, or at least a 'starter' menu to really choose via suggestions the appearance configurations we want from a simple window. The most important thing is to 'keep' and 'integrate' these old features INSIDE the IDEs. Needless to say that I was already relying on Classic UI plug-in.. I'm afraid it will be discontinued due to the big changes made with the 'lightweight' UI provided with devcontainers.
