Quokka - Shannon National Park

This is the second quokka I’ve seen in 18 months in this particular area in the great southern. Prior to this, I’ve not seen any in my 35 years apart from on Rotto. Unfortunately this little guy looks like he was killed by a car. I stopped my car to check for a pouch/joey, but he was a male.
Not the best circumstances, but pretty incredible nonetheless to be seeing quokkas on the mainland again.
I pulled him off the road and left him some flowers.
Rest easy little dude, drive safe people and be mindful.

New little chatty song

This guy comes daily for visits and a drink from the bird bath. I greet him every day when I hear his wing beats and he’s started responding to a name my toddler gave him (“diddums” - very dignified). I’ve never heard this type of magpie song before though? What does it mean?

PDA toddler and his non-functioning ears 😝

Me: “Hmm, I keep tripping over all these shoes in the hallway, I’d love help picking them up”

Mini me: “I wish I could hear you mummy, but someone left their luggage in my ears so I can’t”
