So I am Egyptian and was taking the test on Egypt. When I went to the test center I had my national government ID and a student ID, which I have used before to take the test at home. However, the test center demanded a passport which I don't have. The ID i have is compliant with ETS requirements, I have used it before and I have asked around and was told it was accepted at other test centers.

The test center told me they will assume full responsibility and will email ETS to tell them it's an issue on their part. But when I contacted ETS they refused to reschedule and told me to pay the fees again.

While $ 180 doesn't sound like much, it is a lot of money here in Egypt. It's like a month salary here.

What do I do? I did nothing wrong and was treated unfairly.

I feel lost and would appreciate advice.

So I am basically trying to apply to post graduate studies inside and outside my country, I am from Egypt. My end goal is to work in the academia and\\or research in the pharmaceutical and drug delivery field.

Applying here takes time in the next year, so I am currently focusing on applying outside for 2027-2028 admissions.

The thing is there are many scholarships, with each one in a different country, and in each scholarship you need to apply for a couple of universities, and contact potential advisors. Which is making me very overwhelmed with amounts of emails, proposals and statements I need to come up with.

Some countries allow you to go straight to PhDs while others require masters first.

How do you manage all of that? Do I need to come up with a whole new research proposal for each advisor I contact? Or do I choose an idea that I like and try to align it with each advisor's background?

Any advice or kind words would be really appreciated.

Edit for clarification: in my country, if I want to work in research or academia I would have to get Masters and a PhD. So I'm just trying to get a better quality of education, and also better job opportunities whether in my country or outside. Also, the pharmD I have is regarded as a bachelor in my country. I do not understand why I'm getting such hate for pursuing more education and research.

Hello everyone, so I am finishing my 6-year pharmD which is 5 years of university and a year on internship.

I am not sure which step I should take. Chatgpt says that I should be applying for a phd directly since a 6-year program is equivalent to having a master's. My goal is to pursue a career in research and academia outside. Also, this is pharmD is my only degree
