What product has become ESSENTIAL since starting GLP-1s? 👀

Meds aside- what has been the random product you now refuse to live without?

Could be electrolytes, protein shakes, fiber gummies, water bottles, snacks, apps, nausea remedies... literally anything.

Feeling puffy after the weekend? You’re not alone

Hi all!

Hope you had a great weekend. If you’re feeling puffy, tight, or like your stomach looks different today, you’re not alone (I'm feeling this especially hard after a rather indulgent few days). Eating out, more sodium, alcohol, carbonated drinks, less water, or a different routine can all lead to temporary bloating or water weight.

Here’s how to tell the difference between bloating and weight gain:

It’s more likely bloating/water weight if:

  • Your stomach is flatter in the morning and expands later in the day
  • You feel tight, full, puffy, or uncomfortable
  • It came on suddenly after meals, travel, alcohol, extra sodium, or constipation
  • It improves after walking, drinking water, or going to the bathroom

It’s more likely true weight gain if:

  • The change has been gradual over weeks or months
  • It doesn’t change much throughout the day
  • It doesn’t go away after your routine, digestion, and hydration get back to normal

A few things that may help today: hydrate, take a short walk, eat slowly, limit carbonated drinks, go easy on super salty foods, and give your body a day or two to get back into rhythm.

Scale changes after the weekend are common, and they don’t always reflect true weight gain.

🎉You can now edit your weight entries 🎉

One of the most common pieces of feedback I hear is:
“Why can’t I edit an incorrect weight entry?”

So, I’m very excited to announce that you can now edit your weight directly in the Ro app and web.

A couple quick notes:

  • You can edit and delete recent weight entries (up to 30 minutes back).
  • Additionally, if a weight entry looks off, we will now flag it to you before saving
  • Clinically recorded weights (like ones used for prescribing) won’t be editable
  • This works for both manual entries and Apple Health–synced weights

What you’ll now see when you log your weight:

This is part of a bigger push to make weight tracking actually useful (and not frustrating). We know a lot of people rely on this to understand progress, and inaccurate logs make that harder than it should be. We’re continuing to improve this experience, including making it easier to log weight in the first place and see your progress more clearly.

We’ve also made some updates to the Goals tab to make the most important info easier to find and understand:

If you run into anything weird or have more feedback, keep it coming. This community directly shaped this update.

6 reasons you may not be losing weight on the Wegovy pill

If you’re on the Wegovy pill and not seeing the scale move right away, you’re not alone. But slower weight loss doesn’t always mean the medication isn’t working.

A few things that can affect progress on the Wegovy pill:

  • Not taking it exactly as directed (timing matters a LOT with the pill)
  • Eating late at night, which can affect absorption the next morning
  • Not eating enough protein or strength training
  • Poor sleep or high stress
  • Other medications or health conditions
  • Simply needing more time at a higher dose

One important difference with the pill vs injections: oral semaglutide has to be absorbed through the digestive system, so small changes in how you take it can make a big difference.

The recommended way to take it:

  • First thing in the morning Empty stomach
  • Swallow whole with a small amount of water
  • Wait at least 30 minutes before food, coffee, or other meds

Clinical trials found most people lost around 5% of their body weight within the first few months, but responses vary a lot from person to person.

If you’ve been consistent and still aren’t seeing progress, it may be worth talking with your provider about adjustments, nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress, or alternative options.

If you’re on the Wegovy pill and experienced slower weight loss, drop your advice for other folks in the comments!

Foundayo users - how’s it going so far?

Foundayo has been out for a month now, so I’m curious, how’s it going for people on it?

What kind of results have you noticed so far? Are things feeling more gradual, or are you starting to see more meaningful changes?

Would be great to hear where people are at in their journey, whether that’s weight loss, appetite/cravings, side effects, or anything else.

I’m excited to share that Wegovy 7.2 mg (sometimes called “Wegovy HD”) -- Novo’s newest and highest dose of Wegovy -- is now available through Ro for eligible patients.

Wegovy HD is generally for people who:

  • are already on Wegovy 2.4 mg
  • or coming from certain doses of Zepbound
  • and still have additional weight to lose

What to know:

  • In studies, non-diabetics with obesity, or overweight and a weight-related condition, on 7.2 mg lost about 19% of their body weight over a year, when combined with diet and exercise, compared to ~15% on 2.4 mg.
  • Side effects are similar to other Wegovy doses, but a bigger dose could mean potentially more noticeable side effects earlier on in treatment
  • The cost is $399/month (same pricing as NovoCare) and can be shipped to your door or sent to a pharmacy of your choice. Cost of Ro membership is separate.
  • If you’re already on Wegovy 2.4 mg, you can ask about increasing to 7.2 mg at your next refill

Questions on Wegovy HD? Drop them in the comments.

I know Brian IRL and wanted to share his story here. I think a lot of it might hit close to home for people in this sub.

Especially if you’ve ever struggled with consistency or felt like your lifestyle just didn’t match what you “should” be doing.

Give it a read and let me know what you think!

I recently went on a trip with my mom who is on a GLP-1. Her journey has been smooth so far, but one thing I noticed is that she is burping… a lot. Which is not normal for my 70-year-old well-mannered mother.

So, I looked into what causes burping on a GLP-1 (like Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, Foundayo) and what helps.

Why it happens
GLP-1 medications slow down how quickly food leaves your stomach (this is called delayed gastric emptying). That’s a big part of why they help with fullness and weight loss- but it also changes how gas builds up in your digestive system.

When food sits longer digestion slows, gas has more time to build up, pressure increases. And that often shows up as… more burping. You might also notice other GI stuff alongside it, like bloating, nausea, reflux, constipation or diarrhea.

Burping (aka belching) showed up in clinical trials, and in real life it’s something a lot of people notice especially when first starting a GLP-1 or after dose increases.

The good news is that it’s usually mild and tends to improve over time as your body adjusts.

What actually helps
If it’s getting annoying (or annoying to your family members), a few things can make a difference:

  • Eat smaller meals. Large meals = more gas buildup
  • Slow down when eating so you swallow less air
  • Limit carbonated drinks
  • Stay hydrated
  • Pay attention to trigger foods (everyone’s a little different here)
  • OTC options like simethicone can help break up gas

Burping on its own is usually harmless, but it’s worth reaching out to your provider if you have severe or persistent symptoms, ongoing vomiting, significant abdominal pain, or symptoms that aren’t improving after a while.

Do you notice yourself burping more on a GLP-1? Any other helpful tips I can share with my mother?

I’ve seen some questions about heartburn lately so thought I’d share a bit more on what’s going on and how to deal with it.

What heartburn feels like:

  • Burning feeling in your chest or throat
  • Sour taste or acid coming up
  • Bloating, burping, or general indigestion

Why GLP-1s can cause heartburn:

1. They slow down your stomach
GLP-1s delay how quickly food leaves your stomach. That’s part of why they help with weight loss, you feel full longer.

But it also means:

  • Food sits in your stomach longer
  • Acid has more time to build up
  • That acid can move upward causing heartburn

2. More fullness = more pressure
Feeling very full (especially early on or after dose increases) can increase pressure in your stomach, making reflux more likely.

3. Nausea can make it worse
Common side effects like nausea or vomiting can irritate your esophagus, which can feel like heartburn.

When it usually happens

  • More common when starting or increasing your dose
  • Often improves as your body adjusts
  • Can come and go week to week

What actually helps

1. Adjust how you eat

  • Smaller meals > large meals
  • Eat slowly
  • Stop before you feel overly full
  • Avoid lying down right after eating

2. Watch common triggers
Some foods make it worse:

  • Spicy foods
  • Citrus, tomatoes
  • Chocolate, mint
  • Carbonated drinks
  • Alcohol

3. Timing matters

  • Don’t eat right before bed
  • Give your body time to digest before lying down

4. Simple lifestyle tweaks

  • Stay upright after meals
  • Wear looser clothing (tight waistbands can make it worse)
  • Elevate your head slightly when sleeping

5. OTC options (short-term)

  • Tums, pepcid, and omeprazole can help

If you’re needing these regularly, check in with your provider. The good news is, for most people, this is temporary. Heartburn tends to improve as your body adjusts, especially once you’re stable on your dose.

When to talk to your provider

  • Symptoms are severe or persistent
  • OTC meds aren’t helping
  • It’s affecting your ability to eat or stay on your medication

If you’ve dealt with heartburn on GLP-1s, what tips do you have?
