IE Stage 3 and Hybrid Turbo Release For B9 Platform
Integrated Engineering recently revamped and expanded their lineup for spring and released a stage 3 tune for the B9 platform.
They now have their own hybrid turbo that is a direct plug and play to the OEM turbo and can produce 423 BHP and 423 BTQ. They posted a podcast-style video explaining the turbo system and tune in some pretty good detail.
I called IE to ask a couple of questions and I was left sort of disappointed however. Unfortunately, in order to go stage 3, you need to be able to purchase a TCU tune to hold the power, which sucks since I think only 1 or 2 years of the B9 have the supported transmission model. And the 2021 and up model years? If you have a gen 4 EA888, the tuning suite altogether doesn’t even work. But I was told that they’re still working on unlocking the newer transmissions and engines so that is promising.
What is everyone’s thoughts and opinions on this? Do you think this is an upgrade worthwhile? Is it pushing the threshold of “reliable power” too far?
